There is saying that my friend has “we are just alike in some way”. I wonder is that true. Are we really all that alike? To figure that out my teacher had us for our field experience observe to kids the same age and see. Show if they are any similarities or differences between the two. I started and finish my observing at Shining Stars on Nov 6, 2015. The time was 8 to 10:30 am on a Friday. Where I observe two 4-year-old kids playing, learning, moving. I have done some observing before but on a much border scale and less detailed. It was at both a high and Jr. school we this one was at a day care. A day care that was colorful and spoke of fun. The halls had lots of photos of the teachers and students. The class room I was in the same colorful

In this paper, I discuss my experience with observing a group counseling session with the purpose of evaluating it in terms of how it is set up, how it is run, interventions used, culturally sensitivity, and the contribution toward my professional development as a social worker. The group setting plays a critical role in social work outside of the individual session and can be largely beneficial for clients in the forms of therapy, counseling, self-help, and support. By attempting to better understand group interventions, I will learn how to apply this strategy in aiding clients for whom this method is appropriate by increasing their social supports.
On 07/15/2015, at approximately 2305 hours, your Affiant was on routine patrol on Main Street (SR924) when I observed a silver Chrysler sedan parked in the One Hundred Block of South Main Street (westside of the street) near the intersection of Oak Street. The vehicle displayed a Pennsylvania registration of JRJ-5342. The registration was checked utilizing the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation vehicle record abstract which revealed that the license plate was assigned by the department to KYLE ROBERT & SARAH LYNN FOGARTY for a 1998 Chevrolet. I then verified the status of KYLE and SARAH FOGARTY'S driving licenses both of which were suspended by the Department of Transportation.
Naturalistic observation is a research technique involving the observation of people or objects in their natural environments to gather data. When performing a naturalistic observation, it is key for the researcher to remain unavowed to the subject, or the result of the data could be skewed. When conducting a naturalistic observation to study the exercise times of young adult males versus older adult males, a good place to make observations would be at a gym, a popular hiking trail, or in a populated city (ex: downtown Washington, D.C.) where there are large sidewalks and plenty of room for foot traffic. Next, determine the variables. The measurable variables would be determined by witnessing a subject perform some sort of exercise, or any act that raises the heart rate above its natural rhythm on purpose at different times of day (ex: bike riding, running or jogging, roller blading, weight lifting, swimming, etc.). A record is kept regarding the execution of the variables, and after spending a viable amount of time collecting data from the subjects, the results of the study can be concluded. A possible result of the study could be that it is more common for older adult males to exercise early in the morning, while it is more common for younger adult males to exercise late in the evening.
My understanding of underserved rural environments is limited to what I have read and what I have observed while visiting the Pacific Northwest and the Appalachian region. However, my familiarity with more urbanized underserved regions is much keener. I have discovered a common theme in many of these underserved areas.
The place where I completed my field assignment was a private program. Inside the classroom, there were 16 6-8 years old with two teachers. KW was the lead teacher and MS was the assistant. The program runs five days a week from 7:45-4:45. A fourth of the students in the class had IFSP/IEPs.
Jayden King Jr. is a seven-year-old boy who is currently in a District 75 program. Jayden Jr. is classified as emotionally disturbed since 2014 and is currently placed in an 8-1-1 second-grade class. Jayden Jr. has a one to one crisis paraprofessional to ensure the safety of the student’s and himself. The crisis paraprofessional works closely with the student to provide assistance with assignments, staying on task and transitioning throughout the building.
A case study is a research method concentrating on a sole individual, primarily used for studying people’s “rare conditions,” such as those with Capgras syndrome and Cotards syndrome (Kalat, 2015, p. 36-42). Naturalistic observation is covertly observing a person’s (or animal’s) behavior “under natural conditions” to gain new insights into their behavior (Kalat, 2015, p. 36-42). A correlational research method is a study that researchers use to measure the relationship between the variables without manipulating them (Kalat, 2015, p. 39). First, a zero correlation means “that as one variable” increases, the other reciprocates inconsistently (Kalat, 2015, p. 39). Second, a positive correlation merely means that the variables move in the same
I thought my first day went great. I am located in Cass City at a outpatient rehabilitation facility. My fieldwork educator (FWE) is very knowledgeable and genuine. She is also a 2011 SVSU graduate, which it nice because she is familiar with the program. We only saw two patients today because the last patient of the day did not come. The first patient had a scapholunate ligament sprain as well as TFCC sprain and the other was a stroke patient. For the first patient, I just observed the therapeutic processes as the therapist used fluidotherapy as preparatory method and stretched the appropriate muscles and ligaments. For the second patient, I was able to administer two activity-based treatments that I created. I was super nervous at first but
I choose to do my observation of society on August 23, 2015, at Kerr-Drummond because it seemed to be the busiest place on campus at the time. I began my experiment at 1:15 p.m. and ended my observation at 1:25 p.m. At first I did feel out of place doing nothing because it seemed like I did not have a purpose, however, I did not let it inhibit me from my research. Almost as soon as I had begun, a woman wearing an orange OSU shirt and shorts sneezed twice without covering her mouth. I felt semi-relieved that she was a little ways away from me and that the wind was blowing away from me as well. Unfortunately, the wind changed directions which then caused me to feel a little uneasy. After she had walked away, a male and a female who seemed to
Last week I asked my contact at the Anchorage School district to send out an email to all the ELL teacher to see if anyone was available to assist me with my field practicum. As of this email no one has responded. Since this month has lot of holidays were school is not in session I became a bit concerned. So I reached out to an English teacher at a private high school who is willing to let me observe her classes. Though the school does not have an English Language Learners program they do have students from Nigeria, Korea, Philippines, and native Alaskan villages. May I please have permission to observe in Mrs. Edmonds class to fulfill the 15 hours for the field practicum?
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM- Based on thorough analysis performed during my five-day field-based observation at the Mt. Carmel Early Learners Pre-school, what significantly stood out to me as an issue to be addressed was the absence of learning centers within the environment. Learning centres is a predominant early childhood practice that has great potential for preschool children as it aids in fostering and stimulating children’s learning and development.
getting their moneys worth. I am just a freshman so I don’t know much about the popularity of the public space but from all my observations I did think that it was a little under used. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed the space and I had no problem hanging out there to gather my thoughts I just don’t think everyone is familiar with this area since it is so new to campus. When I first made my assumptions about Traditions Plaza a main thing was I thought a bunch of people would be there I understand that many factors can affect the amount of people that come such as; weather, temperature, knowledge of the location, and since it is only two weeks into school most people don’t really have a lot that they need to be doing. I also thought Traditions Plaza would be old but I
My first day of observations had finally arrived. Filled with excitement, I opened the doors to Pleasant Ridge Elementary School, and walked into the front office to sign in as a guest for the day. I made my way to the second grade wing to do my first observation for my field experience report. The second grade instructor greeted me as I entered her classroom, with a big bright smile I found made her classroom warm and inviting.
My practicum took place on September 7,2016 from nine thirty to ten thirty. The practicum took place at Impact Early College High School in Baytown. The class I observed was Ms. Nguyen’s class of juniors and seniors that contained twenty students, seven boys and thirteen girls. The class appeared to be alert and ready to learn. Since this was their second period class they already had enough time to shake off their fatigue. The subject was Pre-Calculous and the topic was operations of functions. Students entered the classroom in a calm manner and socialized until it was time to start class. The teacher instructed the students to take their seats and take five minutes to write their assignments into their academic calendar. The teacher went
