We all know Florida's offensive line has been a problem the last couple of years, now though, Florida football head coach Jim McElwain said Florida's offensive line will be a strength in 2017 for the Gators. Jim McElwain on Florida's Offensive Line: “I’m really excited about this group. This is probably … well, this is the best we’ve been since I’ve been here at that position,” Jim McElwain said. “Obviously, there was some numbers issues as far as just what was there, and that’s nothing against anybody. It just kind of is what it is. You had some guys leave early, you had some guys due to injury that weren’t able to finish out their careers. And yet, that group has consistently gotten a little better. I’ve got to tell you, this spring,
Alabama has had some of the best coaches in College football history like Bear Bryant (Hoes 7). Nick Saban is the head coach of Alabama. Maisel stated, “None of them achieved what Alabama is achieving under Saban” (1). Not only has Saban already brought a national title to ‘Bama, but he’s winning consistently, posting a 38-11 record so far (Heos 32). Considering that he’s compiled that record in a conference
“This team will probably go down in history maybe as one of the best ever for what we accomplished this year,” WVU head coach Randy Mazey said. “I think our guys showed a lot of heart, a lot of tenacity and there are Mountaineer fans everywhere super proud of our team. We made a lot of Mountaineer baseball fans that weren’t Mountaineer baseball fans prior to this year. This is a statement about our program, where it’s going and the direction it’s headed. We’ve got us a baseball program that we can be super proud of. We have a great facility, great administration and great fan support. This is not the end. This is the beginning of a great baseball program.”
The Quad at the University of Alabama is about 22 acres of lush grass and intertwining sidewalk, but from my vantage point on the steps of Gorgas Library, I can’t see a sliver of green or grey. I’ve never seen so many people taking part in Elephant Stomp, a pregame tradition where the Million Dollar Band and the cheerleaders (along with Big Al) get Crimson Tide fans ready to cheer on the football team as they beat whichever team has traveled to Tuscaloosa today. The football team here is the most infamous of all the sports programs at the university, but certainly not the only successful one. A sharp whistle cuts through the air and my eyes snap to my drum major just in time to see her call “Yea Alabama!”. I throw up my sousaphone, and a few
With a new head coach comes a new offense to learn. That might be the one set back to a team with so many returning players. Offensive
"There is some competition at the right side, and it has nothing to do with how (redshirt junior offensive lineman Kyle) Bosch or (redshirt sophomore offensive lineman) Marcell (Lazard) are doing. It has everything to do with how (redshirt freshman offensive lineman Colton McKivitz) Colt and (redshirt senior offensive lineman) Tony Matteo are doing. Those guys are fighting for a job right now."
We have now gone through 3 games and a scrimmage, with another game tonight. Now, You can make all the excuses in the world for why we lost the first two. “They’re like number one in the state”, “That was a bad team for first week”, “We didn’t have all our guys”, the list could go on and on. But one thing is for sure, and that’s that there is no excuse for the way we played those first two weeks. There’s no excuse for missing blocks, running by tackles, and taking plays off! Not a single excuse you give will make that ok! You can’t do those things and expect to win games.
The Florida Gators are right in the middle of searching for a new head football coach. The fan base is seeking a coach that'll revitalize a once potent offense. Rumors have been circulating around the internet that the new coach is going to be Chip Kelly. Reading threads and posts on Twitter, from a Gators fan standpoint, this is a no-brainer home-run hire.
That being said, it was important to keep consistency and depth within the offensive line. The team did that in a big way signing Ryan Kalil, and Michael Oher, to contract extensions they also added veteran center Gino Gradkowski improving the depth of a vital position on the football field.
A new school year begins the start of a new football team as the Seminoles lost several players earlier this year from quarterback Jameis Winston, wide receiver Rashad Greene, running back Karlos Williams, and tight end Nick O’Leary to the NFL Draft. Currently, The Florida State football program upholds the record for most recent draft picks with a record 29 under their belt since 2013 along with three consecutive times Atlantic Coast Conference Champions and national title. When the season starts, there will be players to watch such as new quarterback Everett Golson that will replace Heisman Trophy winner Winston. The senior was one of the top graduate transfers during the offseason making 3,445 passing yards and 37 total touchdowns in 12
But a year ago, in that offseason, we weren’t putting in the time and effort to make those plays. I think our kids carried those lessons (into this past offseason).I think we learned so much more sometimes when things don’t go well. I think we were able to couple that with a great offseason, a great summer, and put it together for what is now fall camp … there’s been great growth, and I’m really excited about the continued growth to sustain success” (Goodwin). With this new way of thinking, Matt Campbell is leading Iowa State to one of its best seasons in history.
It’s fairly obvious that the Buckeyes are playing much better lately, winning three out of four. In fact, their only loss in that stretch was to Northwestern and it was by two
Whoever the next head coach is for the Gators, they will inherit a plethora of talent on the offensive of the ball. As it stands, they will also likely walk into one of the best recruiting classes of the 2018 cycle, highlighted by 4-star quarterback Matt Corral. Corral has reiterated multiple times that he is committed to the Florida Gators and will be early-enrolling despite the coaching changes.
Mann got an offer from the University of Florida on April 20th. Mann said Florida's around the corner, but doesn't know much about the school. Mann likes the coaching staff and says the school is beautiful.
“Seeing how things were done as and assistant coach. Is definitely going to help me in the transitions to make it a better situation for every one. You learn little intricacies in coaching. you don’t necessary get as a player but for sure playing with the program, I hold it close to my heart. As afar as winning goes and the tradition of everything, to see where it has gotten now is upsetting and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to turn it around.”
Coach McDonald: We are certainly going to welcome anyone that wants to be apart of our program. We will find the best fit for them. We will evaluate their abilities and their skills. We will coach them up, giving them the individual and group skills they need. We will also help make them make the best decision for themselves. We hill help them as a coaching staff with individuals or as a coaching staff, however that may fall. We are not going to put anyone on the field for the sake of putting them on the field. This is a competitive varsity program. We want to put some wins on the board and be a respectable and competitive program. But we are not going to turn anyone away that wants to be a part of the program and we will find the best fit for them.
