My most prominent educational goal is to obtain a doctorate degree in Psychology with a concentration in Behavioral Neuroscience. I also want to minor in Forensic Science. My initial influenced from a show called Criminal Minds which focuses on a Behavioral Analysis Unit for the FBI. From a young age, I immediately became captivated by the job these people did. In high school, I took a psychology class which only further enhanced my interest in the field. Through independent research, abnormal psychology and forensic psychology have become the main focus of my interest.
After I complete my studies, I plan to pursue a career in analyzing the minds of the criminally insane at a forensic psychiatric hospital. I want to publish books to help
My ultimate goal for the future is to become a forensic pathologist. Forensic pathology is an interesting field because you need more than just knowledge of the human body to be successful. It is imperative to understand how different individuals cope with the loss of a loved one. For that reason, psychology would be a course I would love to take during my time at Vanderbilt University. By taking psychology, I could
My interest in psychology stems from my interest in criminal behaviour leading onto understanding behaviours and mental health. I studied psychology at A- Level along with Sociology and Medical Science BTEC.
My intended major to complete at the University of Wisconsin Madison is chemistry, but how could that possibly connect with international affairs? Well, my main career path is to be a forensic analyst, specialists that use science to help police investigate crimes. They collect and preserve physical evidence from crime scenes, including blood and other fluids, fingerprints, human tissue, fibers, and weapons-related evidence, such as shell casings. One would imagine that this would be a great help to the CIA, my intended career goal. To incorporate international dimensions, I would study and research conflicts going on all around the world to then keep my country and all of our country’s great leaders safe. And in addition, to participate in the humanitarian programs and missions that the CIA presents helps me come closer to my overall goal of making the world a better place, no matter how small the accomplishment. With my previous, and future, knowledge of different cultures, I will be able to better the world around me.
I think my new knowledge, skills, personal growth, and increased understanding of the criminal justice system will have an affect on my future academic achievements and career goals. My new skills that I’ve acquired will help me open new doors in the near future. I say this because the amount of things I know now about criminal justice will allow me to utilize my job time more efficiently. For example, I know how do everything that a new JPO is required to learn. Therefore, when I’m hired as a Probation Officer I can use the new skills I acquired as an intern to get more things done both effectively and efficiently. Also, I think with my increased understanding of the criminal justice system will help me with my future academic achievements. After graduation, I plan to go to law school. After being an intern, I have a wide range of knowledge about the ins and outs of the criminal justice system. So, I can think this will play in my future in graduate school.

Within the next five years, I plan on attending UT knoxville to work on getting a master’s degree in Psychology and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice; my ultimate goal is to become a forensic psychologist.
As explained by Roberts (2012), doctorate programs often require the completion of a dissertation in order to demonstrate that you are capable of planning, conducting, writing, and defending an original research study. However, throughout the course of completing my dissertation I am expecting to experience a number of high and low points. As I begin my dissertation journey, I must admit that I am quite terrified, which is likely stemming from my uncertainty as to what I want do my dissertation on. Personally, I am having a difficult time choosing a topic that I find interesting, in addition to considering the feasibility, whether the topic is researchable, and ensuring it is aligned with the proper guidelines so that the research proposal will be accepted.
There are many different careers in the world. There is a career for everyone. For instants Forensic science is one of them and there are many more. There are a lot of things that they had to do before they became a forensic science. They had to have an education and what they need to do. Very interesting post this week! You have selected an excellent field to work for. I love criminal psychology specially forensics I think the science behind it is so interesting and with the technology we have now a day the process of investigation is less complex I’ll say. Criminal psychology includes behavior analysis which is an amazing field because you are basically analyzing the minds of the criminals to determine a profile based on their history. I am a fan of shows like CSI Miami, Forensic Files and Criminal minds! I can honestly spend hours if I had the time watching these shows. Overall, any field within psychology is very fascinating but this one by far is one of my favorite ones. The downside just like you said on your post is the
Personally, I want to be able to apply my knowledge in psychology to everyday life.
Upon researching careers that pertain to the field of Psychology, I have discovered that I do not exactly know what aspect of Psychology I want to pursue, but several of the careers on the Careers4Terps database appealed to me. One such career was that of a Forensic Psychologist. A Forensic Psychologist interviews family members of friends and of victims, and uses medical and psychological health records in order to create a psychological profile of both suspects and victims. Forensic Psychologists also may be called upon to consult during court cases and jury selection.
With determination and hard work, I plan on obtaining my undergraduate degree in psychology. My interest remains centered on the Biopsychology aspect of psychology, which includes the brain and its behavior. I often find myself drawn to the actions of people, from which my passion for psychology grows stronger from the analyses of their behaviors. For example, I always wonder why those affected by mental disorders act dramatically different in certain situations, while others act calmly and subtly. Since being immersed in the field of psychology, I have picked out events in reality and have begun to see these events through a different lens.
I am very excited about learning how to write properly like a Forensic Accountant. I was born in Leon, Nicaragua, which is in Central America; however, my ancestors were from Spain. Most of my family members are farmers and practice either law or medicine. I am probably the only one that took on a career that requires to be very skilled in math with an investigative approach. Sometimes, I think, I may have acquired an investigative mindset from my father, who enjoys the practice of criminal law. He used to say that being a lawyer was like being a detective.
There are variety types of careers that people try to reach for. However, my dream career is to become a forensic psychologist. Forensic psychology is the interaction study of psychology and law (Maruo, 2010). In other words, psychologist tries understanding and analyzing the person’s emotional state and behaviors.
Choosing a career is indeed a difficult and scary decision considering it is a long- term goal that you need to stay committed to. Knowing that there are many professions out there, how do we know exactly which career would be a perfect fit for you. Yes, there are some students who know exactly what career they want, however others like myself it is a very difficult decision. It’s a complicated decision for me for the reason that I want my career to meet with my passions and the lifestyle that I want in the future. This is why forensic psychology is the perfect job for me because it meets with the main two concerns that I have: my passion and lifestyle I want in the
