Hi, my name is Rebecca Kiger, my program of study is Forensic Science. I am planning on graduating from Forsyth Tech in Spring of 2019. From this class I am expecting to have a deeper understanding phycological human traits. Psycology will help understand the after effects of human behaviour as a Crime Scene Investigator.I have been out of school for three years. Is this this first year of college for anyone
¨Mr. Green committed murder in the pub with a bottle¨. If you like to solve mysteries, then you might find this sentence familiar. I always liked to play the game Clue because I get to solve mysteries. I want to be able to use my talent of solving mysteries in a career, and becoming a forensic scientist seems to be the perfect choice. After researching important information , such as the work environment skills required, the level of education needed, the salary and job outlook, I find myself to be highly qualified for an upcoming career in forensic science.
Through myriad lectures, I am finding that I learn best kinesthetically. Hands-on activities provide kinesthetic learners with a deeper understanding of material that they do not receive with lectures alone. Simply reading a textbook or following a power-point is great for note-taking, but I have found that notes are not enough for me. By actually doing, I benefit from practice, and the content is better stored in memory. Even with simple flashcards for memorizing vocabulary or historical dates, I will excel further than by skimming over a sheet of paper or by listening to the information repeatedly read aloud. If I achieve my goal of becoming a crime scene technician, my learning style will take me far because the job will require me to collect
The life of a forensic science technician is a special career for a special person. It requires certain skills and patience to be a forensic science technician. There are positives and negatives to being a forensic science technician.
The evidence does not lie, a crime scene investigator and a forensic scientist uses solid physical evidence to process a crime scene to help detectives apprehend the assailant, these two fields of study work together to process a crime scene to gather all evidence that may help an detective to solve the case.
Since the time that the scientific science dramatization "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" turned into a tremendous hit and generated its fans, reporters have been worried about what they instituted the "CSI Effect." The hypothesis behind the effect is that fans of the well-known show disguise misguided judgments about the law that they bring with them into the court as jurors. In this way, the trepidation is that the TV show is at last influencing the results of trials - and not in a great manner. Criminal justice researchers have started to study the inquiry of whether nationals who are called to serve on juries bring unreasonable desires and convictions to the court as a consequence of TV projects. The impact that these projects may have on the jurors, their desires, and their choices is known as the CSI effect.
I’ve always heard that the hardest majors are STEM majors, and that they require a lot of time and dedication. Of course, I chose to become apart of the STEM program. However, I was not scared because my love for math and science is incredible. I am majoring in chemistry. I once was very uncertain about what career I wanted to pursue, but after many years I am more than sure what I want to do. With my Bachelor’s degree I plan to become a forensic scientist. I pondered on many careers before I decided on forensic science.
Hi Brooklyn, I am glad to hear that you will be receiving your Associate in Science Degree in May. I’m presently working towards the same degree as well. At the end of the summer I will have my remaining credits completed. After leaving Wallace State I wish you a prosperous journey. Lastly, have a wonderful semester.
There are many careers that you can become with a chemistry degree, such as a pharmacologist and learn how drugs are properly used for or even a toxicologist who research potential harm caused by chemical to help establish regulations to protect the public. Being a forensic scientist is to be believed as being a hero due to the fact that how much help you can do in cases. This job has a great salary but many it has many different work hours and is a cutthroat job. There are plenty of benefits and standards to becoming a forensic scientist.
The career that I have set my heart on is a career in the field of Forensic Drug Analysis. I want to become a forensic laboratory technician. A forensic drug laboratory technician is a lab technician that gathers evidence from crime scenes and analyzes any and all data that is retrieved from said evidence. My desire for this job began back when I was 13 and visited a laboratory, then my desire resurfaced again this past summer when my sister’s brother-in-law took me to his work and showed me exactly what he does. He is part of the Kentucky Police Department and is head of the forensic drug laboratory, so he is and has gone through everything that I want to pursue. He has answered any questions that I may have on the job and he has become my
For as long as I can remember, I have had an interest in science. When I was younger, I had always wanted to learn about animals, as well as the natural world around me. Today, I am no different, and expect that my passion for science will remain consistent throughout my future. I would like to pursue a career in the biotechnology field because I have developed a specific interest in forensic science during my high school career. I have already been taking steps in order to prepare myself for a career as a forensic scientist, as I am currently in the biotechnology program at North Point High School. The biotechnology program has given me a deeper insight to what kind of careers one can pursue in the biotechnology field, as well as a good foundation of knowledge that I will apply in my career. In addition to being in the biotechnology program, I am enrolled in accelerated science classes, and am planning to graduate high school with twelve science credits.
This information will help investigators cluster the symptoms with a particular disease and rule out irrelevant information. The surveillance of the components gather in this step will put a perspective on the abnormal health events that are occurring on the outbreak timeline.
There is a great amount of work that goes into finding the right career. Several factors must be taken into consideration, including education requirements, starting salaries, job duties and responsibilities, advancement opportunities, job outlook, and more. There are a variety of career options available to those majoring or minoring in criminal justice or similar fields such as forensic science. One career in particular, a forensic science technician, combines aspects of science and the justice system. Forensic science careers can be very rewarding to those with interests in these fields and are very important and useful to the criminal justice system. Becoming a forensic science technician requires extensive education, training, and a passion
The basic job of a forensic science technician is to aid in police investigations by collecting and analyzing evidence. Forensic science technicians have a large variety of tasks they could be assigned to. They work in many conditions, both outside on a crime scene and inside in labs. Sometimes, the technicians may travel and their work schedules could be chaotic at times. When they work on a crime scene, they are in charge of collecting, cataloging, preserving, sketching, and taking photos of evidence. In a lab, they are responsible for analyzing, consulting, and exploring hidden links in their evidence. There are also different areas a forensic science technician may specialize in, including, but not limited to poisons, teeth, bodies, chemicals,
The CSI Forensics Scientist Gil Grissom determines the manner of death by using a simulation dummy (Zuiker 2000). Later, he positively identifies a specific shard of glass obtained from the dead body to a champagne bottle in the hotel room (Zuiker 2000). Lastly, Grissom also questions and interrogates the criminal suspects at the end of the case (Zuiker 2000). In real life, the manner of death can only be determined by the forensics pathology (Jacques 2015). The specific type glass can be positively identified by Glass and tool marks expert using laboratory test such as Glass Refractive Index Measurement (Rudell 2016). Only a detective or investigator of that case can interrogate a suspect (Brown and Daveport 2012). The TV show wrongly describes
Forensic science involves the use of science to solve criminal and civil crimes but mostly lies on the side of criminal investigations. It makes it possible to identify the criminals based on the DNA traces they leave behind. It involves analyses of blood, DNA and other evidences and later on uses the findings as evidence in the court of law. It helps in solving the various crimes in the world and this has been the greatest contributor to the growth of the sector. Cases that were previously considered impossible due to lack of evidenced tracing to the victim can now be solved using forensic science evidences. The essay aims at analyzing the different aspects of forensic science that are used in the process of solving criminal activities. It will also look at the different cases that forensic science was used to solve crimes in a court of law.
