Fredrick Douglass was a black leader who changed people’s view of slavery, and he had many achievements throughout his life. By giving many speeches Fredrick Douglass began to give speeches about the harms of slavery in 1841. Fredrick Douglass was the only man who took part in women’s rights. One way he changed America’s view of slavery is by marrying a white woman to try to break the cycle of racism. He also spoke against beer and alcohol. Douglass also reached people by writing books such as his autobiography “ The Narrative of the life of Fredrick Douglass”. Douglass was hired as a speaker by the Society, and later joined a tour of the American AntiSlavery Society in 1843 which was spanned six months and traveled over much of the Northeast
