Although the first year of high school is a big transition, it’s crucial in determining the remaining years of high school because, First, having good grades will determine whether or not you get accepted the university you want and there are more opportunities for scholarships. Second, joining a club in high school will give you an insight in leadership and teamwork. Third, Slacking of your freshman year in high school is a bad thing to do because it will affect your senior year and all the classes you missed or failed, you will have to retake all of them. Lastly, all of these factors all come into play your senior year they can either help you or make your high school years miserable. First, having good grades in your freshman year will open up the doors to more opportunities coming your way. My freshman year wasn't the best I got D's and C's and almost failed two classes. Laziness played a big factor in why I got bad grades I was lazy to do homework and any projects. I had some advice from my cousin’s they would always tell me not to mess up freshman year, but, I ignored them and you start to pay for it senior year by retaking all those classes you failed. To get better grades I set up a planner and wrote down due dates and set up a time organizer at home and this helped me better organize my time to do the work. Each individual has a variety of opinions regarding high school. Two people couldn’t reflect the same way because of differences in choices and experiences. I would advise them to focus on their grades from the beginning, but not let them take over all aspects of their lives. Staying organized and learning to manage their time will make classes more manageable. Imagine you are a salesman and just made an enormous sell but you don’t receive any of the money you just brought in to your company. Well being an athlete at a top program is very similar to that scenario. College athletics is a billion dollar industry, universities generate so much revenue during the year it would only be fair if the players received a part of their share. On the other hand people believe athletic scholarships, meal plans, tutors, and a roof over their head is more than enough compensation.

Everyone wants to be a champion. Many people have the dream of becoming a college athlete and going down in history. With the many controversies in athletics today it is getting harder to fulfill this dream. One of the main controversies is college athletes becoming employees of the college. There are many reasons why athletes should not be employees. College athletes should not be considered employees of the college it will send a bad message to younger generations, cause contract disagreements and lastly it would make the cost of colleges much high than they are.

Personally, I would encourage all the freshman and sophomores that I converse with to start looking at colleges and get the best grades possible right now because high school goes by faster than you think. I went through high school just coasting when I know I have the ability to get great grades and even be in the top of my class. If i knew that my senior year would have came this soon I would have gotten prepared a lot earlier than I am now. Now that it’s my senior year and I’m looking at these colleges most of them aren’t even looking at me because of my grades and it is a terrible feeling knowing that I could have gotten prepared sooner and have a better future than now.

Attending High School is hard enough, especially that last year in High School, yes senior year. Now let's add college classes to that and my High School routine is eat, school, and sleep. In the past, I’ve made horrible mistakes for not knowing how tough courses can get especially with an overload and not studying "right". Yes, In my opinion I think high school athletes should be tested for performance-enhancing drugs. You are probably thinking,"Why?", well I'm going to tell ,why?. Well Lots of athletes are using drugs and they need to stop because that can make bad things happen in their body and it can also ruin their lives. Walt Disney once said, “if you can dream it, you can do it”. This quote is relevant because student athletes must believe they can achieve their academic and athletic goals. High school athletes should have to maintain a certain GPA in order to participate in high school athletics. First, making the commitment to practice and play a sport requires hours of practice. This does not give a student much time to complete homework assigned at school. Second, students who play sports do not always get a full athletic scholarship. Therefore, playing ability should not be fully relied on. Lastly, if athletes are not academically excelling, this might ruin their chances of getting into a good college or finding their dream job.

Being a freshman is the hardest of your four years in high school. Have you ever been pressured to be the best person you can be? This is how my year was as a freshman. Freshman year was the most different I never thought I would of found my way around the school when I first started to go there. Freshman year was the best year throughout my years of high school and it was the only year I had friends. During this year I had a lot of anxieties which dealt with me thinking I’m gonna be alone and not have any friends throughout the year to support me through the whole thing. Also, I would think of the pressure of not doing good in any of my classes so I would think it would affect my GPA in the future. Especially for me, I was the scared freshman who wouldn’t talk to people first; I was deathly afraid of what the upperclassmen thought of me. Hoping to be brought out of my comfort zone, I decided to join a program within my high school called Communities. When most people become a senior they have to work at school - some don't because they either cheat or they pave their way through sport - and put a lot of effort behind there work and trying to pass their classes. We have all worked so hard with late nights all nighters and never ending amounts of coffee and soda to get us through the past 3 years of high school. All past and present high school students, you have been degraded, bullied, or even just being made fun of. If you have not been bullied then you have bullied someone. As painful as it is to think about we have all done this because it is human nature to be mean and cruel and to degrade others so we feel better about ourselves. When you are making fun of someone else it means other people are not making fun of you and you feel accepted for a moment.
