Garden Of Knowledge And Ignorance

In Genesis Adam and Even, the first humans on earth, live in the Garden of Eden. They are very unaware and unknowledgeable. Though they are ignorant they are happy. They live a plentiful life until Eve is tricked into eating the apple from the tree of knowledge. Adam and Ever were both told not to eat “from the tree that was to be desire to make one wise”(3.4). As soon as she takes a bight her eyes are opened to everything she is doing wrong. She feels uncomfortable being naked in front of Adam. Adam’s curiosity also takes over and he takes a bight of the forbidden apple. When God learns of their betrayal he becomes angry and banished them from the garden.
Though I have several questions about Genesis one of the most discussed is whether or not god wanted Adam and Eve to eat the apple …show more content…

If God is truly all knowing why would he let Adam and Eve eat this knowledgeable apple? I personally think that he wanted to test their faith in him to confirm that they really do believe in him because they want to, not because they are told to. I also feel that God wanted them to have knowledge.
One of my favorite quotes is “ignorance is bliss” said by Thomas Grey. This fraise is most definitely true. A lot of people in Greenwich and other wealthy communities can be very ignorant when it comes to poverty. White people will never know what it is like to be searched by a cop simply because of the color of their skin, even though you’re doing nothing wrong.
