Title King County, Washington was a seemingly quiet and safe place to live, atleast until 1982. Over a period of time, dozens of young women began disappearing. This terrified the community. Bodies began popping up in groups, while others still have yet to be found. It was very typical for these missing women to be involved in prostitution, a dangerous lifestyle already. Over the next twenty years, hundreds of pieces of evidence would pop up, while more and more women were killed or simply disappeared. An unidentified serial killer, who earned the name “Green River Killer” was getting away with numerous crimes for over twenty years. They lived in Salt Lake City until 1958, when they moved to King County, Washington. During his childhood, Gary suffered from regular bedwetting, which resulted in his mother purposely humiliating him in front of his brothers and his father. The first sign of Gary’s unusual mental state was the fact that even though he was upset by his mother’s treatment, he was also aroused (Crime and Investigation, 20014). The second sign of Gary’s unusual mental state occurred at the age of seventeen. Sometime between July 8, 1982 and July 15, 1982, Gary premediated and carried out his first murder. He strangled a young runaway named Wendy Lee Coffield to death and placed her body in the Green River. His first five victims were all dumped in the Green River once he had killed them.
