If the government lets gay couples marry, then our divorce rate could go up even higher in number. Although many believe in gay rights, it is difficult to support something that is against the foundation of America, and something that is harmful to the people of America.

Growing up we have always dreamt of the day we would be walked down the aisle by our fathers, or watch the love of our life walk towards up in front of rows of people. Even before were even engaged we wonder what colors or theme the wedding will be, how many people will be there, or where it will be! Unifying your love with somebody during your adult years has been something expected of us since childhood. Marriage is a big milestone in life, opening and closing many doors in life. In addition to changing your family it also affects other aspects of your life. Studies have shown that the satisfaction in marriage and the quality of happiness and health of marriage are different for heterosexuals and homosexuals. The partner’s understanding for one another, their “fighting styles”, and outlook on life are big aspects of marriage. These aspects differ among the separate groups, which is why same-sex couples have higher rates of satisfaction in life and have happier, healthier marriages compared to opposite-sex couples.

As of today, the world is constantly becoming more modern. Social issues of the past are nothing like they are now. Controversies, like equal rights for gays and lesbians, are being debated and resolved as the world advances. Now that gays and lesbians have the same civil rights as a straight man or woman, many states are wondering if homosexuals should be afforded the right to marry the same gender. Same sex marriage is becoming an important topic in America which holds a great deal of attention; while many people and organizations encourage and uphold the right to a same sex wedding, there are still those who refuse to stand behind it.

We live in the Twenty-first Century where same-sex marriage is legal in the United States. There are people who still don’t believe that same-sex marriage is pure love, just like a marriage between a man and a woman. Now, is the time to show that love is love no matter who is married.

Some more examples of our freedoms being expanded include the second amendment and the recent law on same sex marriage. With the second amendment which is the right to bare arms, citizens now have the option to carry a firearm on them always. This plays a huge role in our society today due to the many terrorist attacks that are happening around the world. With more people carrying weapons on them, we can now defend ourselves from dangerous situations and help defend others during these terrorist attacks. Now with same sex marriage finally legal, many individuals can now marry and finalize their marriage with their significant other of the same sex. This became legal with the help of the Obama administration when he attended office during the years 2008-2016.

We live in the Twenty-first Century where same-sex marriage is legal in the United States. There are people who still don’t believe that same-sex marriage is pure love, just like a marriage between a man and a woman. Now, is the time to show that love is love no matter who is married.

Same-sex Marriage is a question that comes across my path on a consistent basis. The agency where I work advocates this practice, which requires yearly training videos to ensure everyone understands the rules of the practice. Although our society bends the laws to support this practice, I will argue that government laws do not hold true to God’s law or even the law of nature. Additionally, I will argue that marriage, by natural law, is designed for procreating purposes.

People have disciminatied against same-sex couples and transgenders. The world needs to relize people cannot change who they are. Times are changing, and the world needs to change too. Same-sex marriage and transgenders should have rights and not face discrimination.

In 2004, Massachusetts was the first state to legalize gay marriage that lead its divorce rate to decline 21% between 2003 and 2008 and have the lowest divorce rate in the country in 2008. (Silver) It is clear that gay couples are very devoted and committed to their significant other that it lowers divorce rates instead of increasing them. Alaska had decided to ban gay marriage in 1998 which raised their divorce rates by 17.2%. (Silver) This article explains that heterosexual couples are more likely to get a divorce compared to homosexual couples due to its statistics. We should consider that allowing gay marriage is a positive idea and and doesn’t do any harm to society but adding productive results.

The next fact that Dr. Cameron talks about is homosexual marriage having the highest rate of domestic violence.
