“It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a Free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even of his personal services to the defense of it.” (“George Washington”). “I have no other view than to promote the public good, and am unambitious of honors not founded in the approbation of my Country.” (“George Washington”). These two quotes come from a very important man in the history of the United States of America. George Washington’s ways and actions were crucial to us today and the American Revolution back then. George Washington was born on February 22nd in the year 1732. He was born in the colony of Virginia (“Biography”). His father Augustine Washington had passed away right after George had turned eleven. George’s mom Mary Ball Washington, was a an only child. She was the second wife of Augustine and they had four boys including George and two girls, Mildred and Jane. When George was only six years old when his family moved to a farm called the Ferry Farm. Upon the eighty acres on the farm, George was an explorer and he was very curious. Since George’s father had passed away when he was only eleven years old he did not get an education like all of his oldest brothers did due to the fact of his dad passing away. Therefore, he only had the education of an elementary school. Although he did get taught by special tutors and he was very well skilled in mathematics. Besides
