There are over 168 million kids stuck in child labor. Around half of them are exposed to hazardous work environments. Kids who work on banana farms are exposed to toxic fungicides sprayed from airplanes. Kids who work in the tobacco field are at risk of tobacco poisoning, they absorb 54 milligrams of nicotine daily which is equivalent to 50 cigarettes. Child Labor is one of the many cons to globalization. The spread of diseases is also a con to Globalization, Zika was first discovered in 1947 in the Zika Forest of Uganda, travelers spread it to South Eastern Asia, French Polynesia, infecting 73% of the population. Zika then quickly spread to The Cook Islands and Easter Island, then later spreading to Brazil in 2015, this has lead to head abnormalities in infants. Globalization also hurts America’s economy, for example, China trade deficits are displacing hundreds and thousands of jobs in the US. Globalization may have its pros, but globalization clearly does more harm than good. Globalization has led to economic problems, led to child labor, and has spread diseases. There has been an increase of child labor due to trying to meet the demands of the growing economy, globalization is the main cause of this outbreak of child labor. Globalization has also lead to many diseases like the Zika virus, Syphilis, and Malaria, spreading culture and trading has lead to these diseases being spread around the most remote corners of the globe. Globalization has also lead to economic challenges, America has lost many jobs overseas to third world countries who use children to manufacture cheap goods under unsafe working conditions.
