The Titaness of Brilliance and the Moon, or prophetic radiance is what Phoebe, a Greek mythological Titan, was what she was commonly called. Although she was never referred to as the goddess of the moon, she is often associated with Selene, who is the goddess of the moon (Luna in Latin). She is also associated with Saturn, the sixth planet from the sun. In almost every picture of Phoebe, she is placed next to the moon with a shield and bow and arrows. Phoebe was not one of the most popular or well known Titans in Greek mythology, she was often always in the background of everything. Although there is little information about her, she still is a major goddess because she was one of the first twelve Titans, which explains why she took the side of the Titans in the War of the Titans. She also happens to take part in the ancient Greeks creation myth story. Phoebe is the daughter of Uranus (Sky) and Gaea (Earth). Also, her Roman counterpart was Dione. Her legend and myth plays an extremely important role in the history of Ancient Greek mythology and the study of Greek classics. Her mother Gaea gave her place to her one of her sisters, (Themis), whom then gave it to Phoebe. She was the third prophet at the Oracle of Delphi, and according the to Aeschylus myth, Phoebe constantly felt like she was carrying an enormous burden. Therefore, she decided to give the Oracle of Delphi to her grandson Apollo as a birthday present. Since Apollo was so grateful that he presided over the lights of the heavens. She also recalls hearing her mothers voice during the Oracle of Delphi. But, because of her being that resembled mortals that possessed magical and mystic personalities, she was often golden-crowned or golden-wreathed
