The funeral wasn't that extravagant for someone of his wealth but Gordon Edgley had only arranged for close friends and family. Both Pyro and Flare were invited as after the incident in London they had been making friends with him. They had came to like him and thought of him as more than a conduit to find a way into the Edgley families magical heritage but in the end he had to die so that his niece could fulfill Pyro's vision.
