Gospel Essentials In the gospel of John it says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life,” (John 3:16, New International Version). The Christian worldview is based on this bible verses because God loves everyone so much that he was willing to give his only Son, Jesus, that way the world could be saved from their sins and have eternal life in Heaven with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. This paper will go into detail about God, Humanity, Jesus, Restoration, Analysis, Reflection, and then a Conclusion that will help tie everything together about the Christian worldview and why these topics are important to Christians. God God has many attributes like how He is “unchanging, eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-present” (Diffey, 2014, para. 1). “God is good, loving, just, jealous, faithful, and holy” you can see these characteristics “through His eternal nature, His omnipotence, and His goodness” and this allows us to understand God a little more and what He is like, (Diffey, 2014, para. 1). God is known as the first person of the Trinity. “Understanding God as a communion of three …show more content…
God is a very important figure to Christians and he is the first person in the Trinity. Humanity as a whole became sinful once Adam and Eve disobeyed God and thanks to Gods love he sent his son to save us. Jesus is fully man and fully God and he paid the ultimate price by dying on the cross to save us from our sins. Restoration comes as a free gift through God’s grace. Analysis was where we took a closer look into Christianity and what some of the strengths and weaknesses are for Christians. Reflection is all about my beliefs as a Christian and how I live my life as a Christian. “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever,” (Psalms
He the perfect expression of love, honesty, truth, peace and wisdom. God is kind, forgiving, and infinite in his existence, holy, welcoming and the ultimate power in the universe itself. Gracious and righteous is the Lord who is greatly embodied of compassion (Psalm 116:5,
Christianity is a Theism worldview that focuses on the belief in one personal and relational God that created all that exists (Hiles, & Smith, 2015). God created man in his likeness to care for all that has been created, to know and worship God, and to love and obey God (Diffey, 2015). Man is to rule and have dominion over the earth, be fruitful and multiply, filling the earth (Genesis 1:28). Christians rely on the support of the Holy Bible to guide them in the word of God. The Bible consist of four basic acts, the Creation, the Fall of Humanity, Redemption, and Restoration (Diffey, 2015). Christians believe that God sent his only Son to die on the cross for their salvation. In this paper will be a focus on the Christian worldview discussing God, humanity, Jesus,
Other attributes are that God is Holy, unchangeable and cannot lie. Isaiah 6:3 attests of God’s Holiness and that glory of God satisfies the whole earth. Because of God’s Holiness, it is impossible for God to lie as this goes against His nature, “So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character to his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable thins, in which it is impossible for God to lie”, (Hebrews 6:17-18, ESV). The Christian worldview doesn’t stop there. Christians contend that their God is alive and will never leave them. God is alive to every believer through His word (John 1:14 NASB), and the Bible, “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than a two-edged sword”, (Hebrews 4:12, ESV). It is comforting that not only does God have a relationship by loving man that hat he will never leave the believer, “because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you”, (Hebrews 13:5, NIV). These mentioned descriptions don’t include the more popular characteristics in which God is all knowing (omniscience), all powerful (omnipotence)
Over the centuries, Christianity has organised its beliefs into a systematic theology that draws from its sacred writing and tradition. While the main beliefs of Christianity are shared by all Christian variants, there are degrees of different in the interpretation of these beliefs and how they are lived out in everyday life. This can be seen in the important of sacred text, principle belief of the concept of salvation in John 3:16, principle belief of divine and humanity in ‘John 1:14’, principle belief of resurrection in ‘Mark 16:1-8’, principle belief of revelation in ‘1 corinthians14:6’, and beliefs through the Trinity in ‘2 Corinthians 13:14’. This essay will explain the important of the sacred text and the principal beliefs of Christianity.
Who is God? God is the creator of all according to the Christian worldview. As Christians we believe that God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Diffey, 2015, Ch. 3) We trust that God be existent in three persons. After reading the Genesis chapters, I understood that God
A worldview is one’s views and beliefs about the world and reality that impact how we think, live our lives, and perceive the world. “People have their own private worldviews with values and beliefs that have been shaped by culture, education, experiences, and relationships” (“Lecture 1,” 2015). There are many worldviews and outlooks in the world, but we are mainly focusing on the Christian worldview. In this paper, I will summarize and analyze the Christian worldview and describe their beliefs with regard to God, Humanity, Jesus, and the Restoration while reflecting on my own beliefs.
John as we know today was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus. He was also the brother of James, who was also an apostle. John was the son of Zeebee and of Salome. His father was a fisherman while living in Bethsaida in Galilee on the border of the lake Gennesareth. John's mother was one of many women who gave to the maintenance of Jesus Christ. John's parents were very good people, they loved God and his son. It is said that john and his brother James were fishing when Jesus came and chose them. They were soon known as the fishers of men. The John of whom I am talking about is John the Evangelist.
The Christian faith is centered around God almighty, a holy godhead. “The doctrine of the Trinity affirms that the only true God eternally exists as three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—one in essence, united in glory, and distinct in relations” (Horrell, 2014, para.1). God represents the Father, Jesus represents the Son, which was God in the flesh and the Holy Spirit, which is given to those that believe in him. “We are invited to know this God through Christ and to be transformed by the renewing of our minds through the Word and by the Spirit” (Horrell, 2014, para.5). There are many profound characteristics of God; He is the great I Am, holy, just, faithful, good, merciful, gracious and the source of all blessings. He is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, sovereign, immutable, wrathful and wise. His strength and power is unlike anything else. He existed
The Gospel of John, the last of the four gospels in the Bible, is a radical departure from the simple style of the synoptic gospels. It is the only one that does not use parables as a way of showing how Jesus taught, and is the only account of several events, including the raising of Lazarus and Jesus turning water into wine. While essentially the gospel is written anonymously, many scholars believe that it was written by the apostle John sometime between the years 85 and 95 CE in Ephesus. The basic story is that of a testimonial of one of the Apostles and his version of Jesus' ministry. It begins by telling of the divine origins of the birth of Jesus, then goes on to prove that He is the Son of
This paper will explain to you the Gospel that makes up the Christian Worldview. I have broken this down into four sections. God, humanity, Jesus, and the restoration. I am also including my own analysis of these sections as well as my personal view of how I interpret the Christian Worldview into my own lifestyle. By the end of this paper you will have an understanding of the insight on what it means to possess a Christian Worldview.
It is the foundation that offers many the ability to understand the irrational and give substance to life’s deepest questions. In this paper, the Christian worldview will be broken down with an in-depth look at God, humanity, Jesus, restoration, and an analysis and reflection on the worldview, and express its value to mankind. God God is known to have many characteristics associated with him.
God is the sovereign Creator of our world. He has many characteristics and attributes; He is loving, just, holy, faithful, unchanging, and all-powerful. Romans 1:20 reads, “For his invisible attributes, namely his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly
A worldview is the framework from which we view reality and make sense of life and the world. I base my worldview on the infallible Word of God. I believe the Bible to be entirely true, that it is the foundation of everything I say and do. I believe in a Christian worldview in which my primary reason for existence is to love and serve God. I stand firm on “The Apostles Creed” believing in God the Father, who is maker of the heaven and earth. I recognize that “in Him all things hold together” (Col. 1:17), for all true knowledge flows from Him. In this paper, I will explain my belief in Jesus Christ and my Christian worldview.
