I disagreed with Senator O’Donnell when he emphasized that free enterprise has lifted people more than a government program. In my opinion, I believe government programs is beneficial to individuals especially students. Government programs have improved chances for economically disadvantaged students, low-income students to obtain a higher education. Also, many government programs have eliminated poverty and homelessness and helped many people live a healthy and productive life.
2. I agreed with Senator Rebekah Warren when she oppose Senator O'Donnell statement that politicians hand out money to people especially students to make them famous. I agreed with Senator Warren because she emphasized as students we will find one way or the other need a couple of dollars to help us financially because many students do not earn enough income due to their school schedules. Also, many of the scholarships which are made available for students by politicians also motivate students to work hard in their academics because for students to qualify for these scholarships they have to earn a good GPA before they can be eligible to apply. So in my opinion, the money and the awards giving out by most politicians are very helpful.

I Agreed with Delegate Alonzo Washington when he spoke about his house having three delegates and one senator. I believe it was a good thing because, in that way delegates can approach any situations that may arise quicker, easier and faster. Also, the three representatives can put their heads together and tackle difficult situations by bringing out different points of views in solving problems. However, in Senator Warren’s state if felt it was not easier for one delegate to deal with all the situations, even though decisions were going to make faster, and there were going to be a sense of accountability, I also realised that he was not going to solve all issues at hundred
The framers of the Constitution had a set image they wanted to put forth in America, and to get the document ratified they were forced to make compromises. Two of the most important compromises are the 3/5 clause and “Great Compromise”. During, the Constitutional Convention there was a deadlock about representation. Arguments from both sides seem valid, big states argue representation should be based on population while, small states argue it should be equal representation. In need for a solution, a few men proposed a bicameral legislature. Which, allows for both population based representation, and equal presentation by having a House of Representatives and a Senate. The Senate has equal representation that allows 2 senators from each state,
The United States has many conflicts, one of them is funding on public education. Despite the fact that funding on public education will not help students succeed academically with the money provided to the schools, every school deserves to get as much money because students will receive more proper education and will be more successful students in the future.
Democracy is conceptualized as a “will of the people, by the people, and for the people.” Intrinsically, all variants of democratic representation must take into consideration the will of the majority of the electorate. In the democratic approach, the representative carries the will of their district to Congress and ensures it is sufficiently expressed. Further, a delegate representative is better placed to be in constant communication with the grassroots and understand their district issues which would also help with the articulation of such matters in the House. Implicitly, delegate representatives also have better chances of re-election as they will often refrain from being in contravention of their district’s
Also, for every 300,000 citizens, each state would receive one member to serve in the House of Representatives and two Senators (Sawe 3). Each state would split congressional delegates between representatives and Senates (Sawe 3). Those representatives would be elected by the district to serve in the lower house, and the Senators would represent each state in the upper house. In the Senate, the compromise proposed that each state no matter what size or population would have two Senators. The House of Representatives would be the only house of Congress to write bills to create taxes.
Another subject mentioned under Article 1, section 3, the senate, on the constitution mentions how each state should have two senators chosen by legislatures up to six years, and each of them should have a vote. The reason why there are two senators for each state is because if one senator’s laws or ideas seem unfair or not equal for the people, the other senate can take power. Under Article 1, section 2, House of Representatives, it states how each state shall not exceed one for every thirty thousand, it is better to have more representatives in each state that way they’re watching over each other and making sure to accept potential future laws for that individual
Delegates from the large states believed that because their states contributed proportionally more to the nation’s financial and defensive resources, they should enjoy proportionally greater representation in the Senate as well as in the House. Small-state delegates demanded, with comparable intensity, that all states be equally represented in both houses. When Sherman proposed the compromise, Benjamin Franklin agreed that each state should have an equal vote in the Senate in all matters, except those involving money. Over the Fourth of July holiday, delegates worked out a compromise plan that sidetracked Franklin’s proposal. On July 16, the convention adopted the Great Compromise by a heart-stopping margin of one vote. As the 1987 celebrants duly noted, without that vote, there would likely have been no Constitution (United States Senate).
To have one central government that provides checks and balances to the states is just what was needed at the time. Although the delegates fought tooth and nail for their individual
Recently, a meeting of delegates at Carpenter’s Hall in Philadelphia met together with the purpose of revising The Articles of Confederation. Many important people were present, with the likes of Mr. George Washington, who was elected president of the delegation. A total of fifty-five members were present, and they had many opinions on how our new nation shall be operated, and many others. With many southern delegates threatening to pull out of the Union if slaves were to be set free, one significant issue from the beginning was the issue on how to represent the slave population. As the entire delegation was still traveling to Philadelphia, Mr. James Madison sketched together a plan for a bicameral legislature, which was widely accepted
Each state needs to have equal representation in the Senate to make sure they get their point across. Equal representation helps guard against tyranny because it protects the needs of all states and prevents bigger states from getting too much
One major issue the delegates encountered was giving fair representation to both large and small states.. The
When choosing the number of people that we elect per district, I believe that this is one of the most important issues. When we look at multi-member districts one might think that the segmentation of work and the ability to represent multiple values and backgrounds might be beneficial, but it can hinder efficiency. In a perfect situation all the members of the district would work together and be able to hear everyone’s problems, but we have to understand that government is far from perfect.
Those who oppose free higher education claim the government will not be able to finance such a project and raising taxes would be equally as unsuccessful. Believing that limiting deductions for upper-income tax filers will only, “raise the cost of college even further and shift the burden to hardworking taxpayers” (Meckier and Mitchell). However, it has been proven that when the government invests in free education it generates more profit. The GI Bill that authorized the free education of two million veterans led to high
This topic matters to me because i feel that there should not be so much debt for college students and personally i felt like i qualified for scholarships and i did not receive any because i was not able to do to the fact that colleges don't over scholarships because their overly high or because all of the money goes to paying for football players and baseball players scholarships. We all have faced college debt or will be facing college debt because there is a lack of income that comes towards high school students. Not just I but others have faced this issue and we all want some sort of balance for both athletes and academic students. But let me ask this question do we need more lawyers, doctors, firefighter, nurses or etc,or do we need more athletes
The government needs to focus on the homeless and the starving, instead of one person having billions of dollars. Being able to build your own business is a good thing, but there are also downsides to this. You need to weigh the pros and cons. Free enterprise is not always necessary to become a successful
Instead, citizens should be paid to go to college because they are going there to better themselves as citizens of the United States. Making new experiences for each individual is important. No one will enjoy the experience if they have crushing debts to worry about. Education should be out there to inspire peoples mind and not just filling their head with others perspective. Every individual has the right to learn and be educated, and have the opportunity to view this world in a different perspective and do something on their own. But the cost of education is so unaffordable to some mankinds that it is just ferocious for them to even consider paying those education bills off” (“Should Higher Free Education Should Be Offered to All for Free?” 4). If students were not stressed out over the cost, they could then focus they’re stress on leaning and getting educated. A student should only have to worry about exceling him or herself to their best ability without worrying about the price they have to pay to get their education.
