My grade school’s cafeteria was not better than Café Matarelli. The cafeteria at St. Philomena was not better because the lunch ladies were mean. As a grade school child, I was timid and shy around people, especially adults. The lunch ladies were one of the main causes of my fear. For example, sometimes the lunch ladies would yell at me for not eating everything on my tray. Café Matarelli is generally filled with nice people. The only time I have witnessed someone get angry is when someone was behaving inappropriately. The lunchroom at Notre Dame is better because there are more options for lunch. In grade school, the lunch ladies served one meal. If I did not like what was for lunch, I had to bring a cold lunch from home or eat nothing.
Although extracurricular activities are required for colleges, GPA also plays an important role. Once students begin college, there is a need to maintain good grades and most students choose to go to work to earn money. Sports can become a distraction to students. Being on the honor roll while playing a sport at the same time will prove that you can be committed to two things at once. To play in games, athletes should have to be on the honor roll.
I choose to observe our cafeteria, better known as the Fresh Food Company. It was the perfect location to observe because there is a lot of interaction at lunch time. There are
Throughout my academic career, my grades and accomplishments have always been of extreme importance to me. To keep up with my goals, for example, making honor roll every quarter, I have taken steps and faced setbacks that have enabled me to see the big picture rather than focusing on the little issues that could discourage me from reaching those goals. To make the honor roll at my high school means obtaining a 3.5 grade point average or above for the entire quarter. As a freshman, I made it my goal to meet this standard throughout my complete high school career. To do this, I studied hard for every one of my classes, always did my homework, and put in as much effort as I could; I gave it my all. Through tough classes and staying up all night
Peoria Notre Dame has quality food. The entrée at Peoria Notre Dame is always very filling and very tasty. The other types of cuisine include sandwiches, salads, and different types of snacks. This variety can ensure that you will always be able to find something to eat each day. Meeting and talking about one’s day is easier with closed campus lunch. It will allow you to grow attached to your friends and make a friendly, trusting environment for yourself. Also, it will help to make sure you will always have enough money for lunch because PND lunches are quite cheap.
I heard the Mavericks ball kid team is the best in the NBA, and I would like to be apart of that team. Being a ball kid would be amazing, incredible, and a fascinating person to be! Especially since we get to serve the fans and assist the Mavericks staff! There are many reasons why I would like to become a ball kid and qualities I possess that would make me a good one!
I entered through the cafeteria and the first thing I noticed was the smiling faces that came from teachers, students and parents. Teachers stood around different areas of the cafeteria and handed out breakfast to students. I found
You can be successful in sports by being a good sport. Also by having a good attitude towards others and the referees. Scoring a lot of points is also important too because if you don't score points then your team can't win.
As a potential member of National Honor Society, I believe that it is essential to balance scholarship, character, service, and leadership in my life. I have made it essential to try and express these values everyday both in and out of school. Personally, scholarship is the most important cornerstone of National Honor Society to me, and it is also what I spend a majority of my free time hoping to enhance.
The Battle School’s method of training the young soldiers appears as brutal, degrading, and unsympathetic. The school has made the students fight against one another and cause them to hate each other. Since their arrival, the students have been forced to compete against one another to earn their place at the top of the food chain. The Battle School has had it in the peoples’ mind that the enemy has and always will be the buggers. None of the students have considered that the Battle School has a malicious system. In any battle or war, all sides share a similar goal- to win. The correct way to win the game and the best tactics to use will always be different. Based on several observations by using their monitors, the school hand picks their soldiers.
If you had a tough day at school you can just walk out the front door to see beautiful Miromar lake. The actual classes are in separate buildings but they are very close to each other and there are restaurants inside the campus not including the ones in the dining hall. The best part about the campus is its run by solar power which is amazing.
In the United States, a report by the National Women’s Law Center found that about 28 percent of coeducational public high schools don't offer equivalent resources to girls’ sports teams. Team USA's soccer victory should generate greater interest in women's sports and interscholastic competitions that could ignite professional athletic careers.
For this research, I asked one of my friends, Hannah, who still a student there to skype me in so I could observe. We started to skype at the end of her class and I watched as her and other students herded into the lunch building. She described what she witnessed as I paid close attention to the screen. Many students were either speed walking or running toward the lunch lines while other rushed to claim their spot in the cafeteria or hallway. Once all the spots are claimed in the cafeteria and on the sides of the hallway, several social groups take to standing in
I began wrestling since my freshman year of high school, as I have always wanted to wrestle. I did not necessarily at the sport, but I enjoyed it. I earned medals and won tournaments, and for a time I even saw myself wrestling in college. I thought that I had my future planned until I dislocated my knee. I first viewed the incident as a freak accident, but it soon happened frequently. It reached to the point where I required invasive surgery. Mulling over my surgery and repeated injuries, I concluded that wrestling became too dangerous. But I committed myself to wrestling; I had no idea what else to do. Desperate to find an activity to fill the void that athletics left behind, I decided to try something outside of my comfort zone. As a result,
H2: The first question that was examined was the average GPA of students. What was shown was more students that were in activities had a higher GPA than those who were not in activities. 43% of students that were in an activity had a GPA average 3.67-4.0, with the next highest average having a GPA of 3.1-3.66. Those not in activities had 43% of their average GPA as 2.0-2.66 with the second highest average GPA with 3.1-3.66. This question was significant to the research because it shows that those in extracurriculars have a higher GPA, or academic success, than those who are not in them. This question proves the hypothesis.
In 2008, 30.2% of youth ages 6 to 12 were active to a healthy level through sports(“Facts”). This shows that some kids are getting the minimum amount of physical activity. To raise this level, all kids should include sports in their daily life. All kids should be engaged in sports. Regular activity is required for good health and high school athletes are more likely to attend college.
