Graduating High School Is Not Enough to Stop Learning
According to “Obama Urges Students to Pursue Higher Education”, writes by David Jackson, USA Today editorial staff; I agree with President Obama that high school students need to continue the higher education to get a better life for themselves and also for their country. I think the diploma in higher education is really important because by growing of the socioeconomic, almost the jobs today or in future need the higher education workers than high school or GED, such as college or university. In his speech, “Remarks by the President in a National Address to America’s Schoolchildren,” Obama effectively argues his claim, that kids should go to school and try very hard to succeed to schoolchildren around the U.S. He effectively argues his claim because he uses supporting details and stories of students that have undergone tough situations, but still overcame those obstacles to succeed and school. Also, he is trying to tell kids that they should do well in school to get a good job and make a difference. He also uses rhetorical appeals to help with the supporting details. One of supporting evidence that he brought up was that if someone wants to become something such as a doctor, or lawyer you will need a good education to do
We are told to “go to college” by family, media, and teachers, but we are never given an explanation on why it’s important for us to get a higher education. The importance of higher education is so we can obtain a career that can support our needs and wants. It’s also important because it gives you an advantage when trying to get a job. Employers require a higher form of education, which is necessary for our society to advance. There aren’t many jobs that accept people with a high school diploma as their highest form of education. Employers want people that know what they’re doing, and so does our society. In order for people to go into the career field they want, they need to go to college to learn everything that comes with that career.
On the morning of my fifth grade graduation, I was chosen by my teacher to read a speech in front of everyone at graduation. Which included the fifth grade classes, faculty and staff, and most importantly, families of the graduates. I immediately felt my stomach turn upside down. Me being the person I was at the time, I have never talked or read about something at such a very large crowd or event. Also with being in my teacher's class, I was very shy and wouldn't really talk with anyone. So figuring out why she would pick me to talk to a large crowd of people totally shocked me.
After graduating high school mostly everyone has both high hopes and dreams, people whom have high hopes for the career life ahead of them seem to run into manys different obstacles along the way. After graduating high school I finally came to a conclusion of what I wanted to do with my life. My senior year in high school not only did my hopes change multiple times they also changed tremendously. One of the biggest obstacles that I ran into or that I face everyday is my cell phone. My cell phone is my biggest issue when it comes to anything its almost like its impossible for me to put it down. With social media being as big as it is today my head seems to stay in either instagram or snapchat 98% of the day. rather than my phone I seem to run

These attributes have led me to an amazing eighth grade year which makes me believe, “ I do deserve to

I read an article "Is a college degree necessary" in Los Angles Times was written by Mike Rustigan in my English class. The author wrote about the number of dropouts from the university because they feel that school is not the appropriate place for them to learn the knowledge and life. They just want to work with your hands, and learn a skill by itself after high school. By contrast, Obama wants every student has the opportunity to attend college to obtain higher wages later. Obama told Congress, "We expect our children not only to graduate from high school, but graduating from college and have a good paying job." (Los AnglesTimes). After reading the article, there is the big question in my mind is: Is there a
