High school graduation is an accomplishment. Therefore, Mom, Dad, I should be allowed to stay out that night. Both of you have taught me to be the trustworthy, honest, and humble young adult I am today, so you can let me stay out after graduation. I am beyond thankful for the trust that both of you have placed in me. As well as you both know that I have not ever given you two a reason to take it away from me. I have never taken advantage of the trust relationship. I have been valuing our trust ever since I was young. Both of you always say that anything is possible. I know that graduation night things happen way too fast but, I promise that I will let you know my whereabouts. You can trust me, I promise. Remembering when I was nine years old
I have several notable accomplishments, most of them are of academics. Some of the awards/accomplishments that I can recall ever since I was in middle school are: First position on spelling contest, department award for the most Helpful student, Student of the quarter, Presidential award for educational excellence (Gold Seal), 4.0 Honor roll, Indian Classical dance, Achieve3000 state winner, department award for “Excellence in English Language Acquisition,” and Academic Excellence Lettering Award. Among all these awards and recognition, I consider Achieve3000 to be the greatest because it was a state level competition and was moderately competitive to win. In the Achieve3000 program, basically, an individual has to compete with the students
All throughout school, students are ask what we want to be when we grow up. Many of us know or have a pretty good idea, but others have no clue what they want to pursue as a career in life, whether it be furthering their education at a university or attending a technical school. There are other students that plan to start work right out of high school. Either way we all have a plan, and the purpose of this paper is to inform you of mine. I personally struggle in making big decisions like deciding what to do with my life, but then I realized I have been asking myself the wrong questions. Instead of asking what I want to be when I grow up, I asked myself what do I want out of life? what are some of my goals that I wish to achieve? This led
With a year full of hurdles I was set to overcome, senior year did not seem like the right time for me to defeat my dragon. My introverted qualities have grown tremendously over the course of my life due to traumatic events I have been forced to face on my own. Since adolescence, I have always been known as the “quiet girl” in the room. I always took this as a compliment, until recently, when I realized I was missing out on crucial events that would help prepare me for the future. Through careful consideration, I decided that senior year would be the ideal time to slay my dragon, introversion.
As a freshman in high school, I had the worst grades in Biology, English and Math. I was struggling in English and Biology because of my poor English-language skills. I was new to the United States, and that made the transition difficult. However in math I was just being lazy and I did not want to put in the effort needed to get a decent grade.
Imagine it’s your eighth grade, year. Time is flying, tick-tock, tick-tock. You’re getting closer to that one thing you’ve been waiting to achieve, since the day you started middle school. It’s coming down to the wire and there’s only one week left before this event arrives. You’re feeling confident, however you ask yourself,”Do I deserve to graduate?” Bang, there goes all of your confidence, down the drain. This is what many eighth graders worry about during their last few months of school. Throughout the duration of my eighth grade, I’ve accomplished many goals and have grown into a more mature person. These attributes have led me to an amazing eighth grade year which makes me believe, “ I do deserve to
Growing up, I’d always been expected to do well in school. Which isn’t out of the ordinary, every parent wants their child to be successful and have a beneficial career. So, since good grades were what my parents expected that’s what I got. All throughout elementary, I strived to do my absolute best in every subject. At my sixth grade graduation I was awarded the Presidential Award for Academic Achievement, in my junior high years I did well as well. My eighth-grade year I achieved my goal of obtaining a 4.0 G.p.a. The first year of high school was nerve-racking but I still managed to keep my grades up. However, Sophomore year was definitely a bump in the road for me. In all my ten years of being in school (including head start and kindergarten)
“My high school career has been busy. A positive of it being busy is that life never gets boring, but a negative to me always being busy is that sometimes I want to take it slow and relax," says Kenton Stover, son of Ken and Amy Stover. When Kenton does get time to relax, he enjoys doing Powersports mechanics, hunting, fishing, hanging out with his girlfriend, and being free in this great country. Kenton is involved in FFA, FCCLA, he is the chapter president of Skills USA, he is the senior class historian, and Stover attends Votec at State Fair Community College studying building trades; Kenton also plays baseball and basketball.
From a young age I have been taught that education is a tool and an opportunity that not many get the option of acquiring during their lifetime. Originally , It was not in my plans to graduate early so when I found out about the great news I felt very proud of all my small accomplishments that led up to this. Finding out that I had enough credits in order to graduate early was honorable. Even though there are still a few arrangements that need to be done like taking the ACT or SAT, I believe that with the help of my counselor I will be able to succeed. Being enrolled in the CNA - One semester program at the Peoria Tech campus is my first step into the career force. Upon completion of this course, Tech places students in a clinic/hospice to
In this time of day, earning many recognizable accomplishments is a much harder task than many think. I stay true to be proud of my accomplishments. From the bigger ones such as receiving my certifications in multiple Adobe softwares, to my smaller ones like getting passed my first year of college. I consider passing High School to be one of my biggest accomplishments. Yes, getting your High School Diploma is the standard, but in this day and age, technology has made it easier to find a purpose in life for some. As for myself, even though I strive to some day work on designing and assembling computers, I have followed the traditional path of grinding through school to reach a stable amount of knowledge to further continue my studies. High School
Entering college, straight out of high school was a new and difficult transition for me. I wasn’t used to the systems and rules in college, because compared to high school they are drastically different. Christina was very helpful in that new transition and I am glad she was. Christina knew how difficult adjusting to a new environment would be and she made it a million times easier. She would spend the time to go over what classes I needed to take. She would help me make decisions that I couldn’t make by myself. She was always available to meet with me and answer my questions, whether it was at an advising appointment or through email.

Success is defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. I aimed for something
High school is supposed to be the place where you have fun and a time in your life you’re supposed to enjoy. Movies often trick you into believing that high school is an amazing time in your life and there is nothing but parties and fun. In Bring it on, they portrayed the fun and exciting part of high school cheer-leading, however they intentionally leave out the tough times high school students’ face in school and in their practices. In other popular movies, such as High School Musical the students have no pressures other than the next basketball game. In reality, this doesn 't happen. The constant pressure is affected by the grade level you are in. In high school, students can be classified based on the pressures that are faced in each grade level into the categories of freshman, sophomores/juniors, and seniors. I am here to help you make your high school experience less stressful.
Our graduation is our coming of age, our right of passage. As we walk across this stage we are writing the closing pages to our Chapter I and heading into the great unknown. It's kinda scary -- but hey, don't you cry, even though high school is over, the times we've shared and the friends we've made will never be lost. The clock is ticking, time is fleeting and nobody lives forever. But true friendship is something we can count on never dying. I hope wherever we go in life it will be happy and even if we all move to remote island countries we can all count on the memories and laugh at all the stupid things we did.
