Going to college can be a very rewarding experience for a traditional, or non-traditional student who wants to go back to school. More money on a paycheck can be a reason why someone would want to presume their education. Another reason why someone would want to go on to college would be to increase their intellect so they can be more sophisticated in life. Someone might also want to further their education because college teaches your life skills. A college education can be very rewarding for a traditional or nontraditional student by making more money, more intellect, and learning life skills for the world. A college education will make much more money than a high school student. The statistics of a high school graduate making a yearly salary compared to a college graduate are very different. People with a bachelor’s degree make 84% more over a lifetime than high school graduates. In 1999, the premium was 75%, according to a study. High school graduates can make $2.2 million over their lifetimes as general and operations managers. College graduates who become chief executives or legislators can haul in $4.5 million. Physicians and surgeons rake in nearly $6 million (Hsu). At one point in time a president named Jefferson wanted a person to increase their intellect by completing college.
