For once, the words “Class of 2017” does not sound foreign. As graduation is quickly approaching, it is impossible to escape the exciting chatter about plans for the summer and ultimately starting college. I have been lucky enough to get to know classmates that are going to University of North Carolina, University of California Los Angeles, and Dartmouth. It seems that everyone shares a common goal: to get as far away from York as possible.
Despite the obvious detest for York, there is no denying that it is our home. No matter where you go, it is impossible to erase 13 years of education. To be honest, I wouldn’t want to. I am truly blessed to have gone to Central York School District from kindergarten to my senior year. Central York High School has without a doubt provided me with the opportunities and tools to not only be confident in the person that I am in today, but to be confident in my abilities for success. I entered high school as a timid student, terrified of raising my hand. I will graduate as a strong, but soft spoken, leader who finally has the courage to look at the person I am talking to. This transformation began with my teachers who saw the potential that I did not recognize in myself. Their

For the younger generation, being fluent in technology is a necessity for any type of work. It was a privilege to have the resources and the option to incorporate technology into my schoolwork. Mrs. Foery told me that Central is one of the few districts in York that allows its students to customize their schedule. Determining my own pace was helpful for me because I was able to take courses that interested me, which helped me discover classes that I had an unknown passion for. As a result of the scheduling, I was able to learn Spanish and Latin and uncovered many connections between those electives and my other science based
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Saydel High School. Today is a big day, as we, the class of 2018 gather one last time before taking our next steps into our adult lives. We made it. We graduated high school. Soon, we will all be walking across the stage to receive our diploma, which is an event that has been 13 plus years in the making.
Nowadays, teenagers and young adults are graduating high school and college and are unable to find jobs. A lot of them lack the basic skills needed to survive during adulthood. Institutions exist mainly to educate people on what they need to maintain a somewhat decent lifestyle. Students have been forced to take classes on a variety of subjects throughout high school, most of which have nothing to do with what they need to prepare them for life after education. Even in college, a majority of students do not know what career field they would like to enter, so when they graduate it is hard for them to get a job anywhere. Institutions are not arming students with the proper information needed to excel after education. So, new classes should be created and required for students to pass before graduating. They will be based on basic skills such as money management, customer service skills, and credit understanding.
Hello everyone! My name's Ally Ward and I'm a senior at South Stanly High School. Currently I'm taking CCP courses with SCC, so that I'll have two years under my belt when I start college. I plan to attend Gardner-Webb University this Fall and major in English with a teaching license. After I receive my major I plan to get my doctorate in English and then get a job as an English professor. I also love to read, shoot archery, ride horses, and spend time with my family.
So … snaps fingers … wow! This is a lot of people. Well, first off, congratulations everyone; you all made it this far. Hopefully you will be able to make through this speech. According to page ten of the Chisago Lakes High School Student Handbook, all of you have earned at least 28 credits in a variety of disciplines throughout the last four years. And for those English nerds out there, I do have a properly formatted works cited page if you would like to fact-check me. Don’t worry.

As I walked to Joffrey Ballet School every day, passing through Washington Square, I found myself looking past NYU. Night or day, I always managed to find a feeling of undeniable excitement whenever I would take a walk through the streets of the campus, it was magical. Born and raised in NYC, I find myself to be an ambitious, independent yet passionate individual. Having lived in the West Coast, throughout the programs I attended in China and The Hague, I have witnessed a multitude of diverse thoughts and perspectives. Similarly, with the highest number of international students in America from more than 100 countries, I want to engage with the wide array of ethnicities, passions and ambitions. In addition, I attended a highly multi-cultural rigorous school which
The DASH I hope to leave behind me would be meaningful and significant if I could make an impact on this humble, close-knit community of Horn Lake. For my actions to be remembered, it would indicate that I truly made a difference in the town in which I grew up; and after having forged the greatest friendships and memories for which I could ask here, leaving a mark of me would be an honor. This is why, as I embark on the next step of my life and head off to college, I have chosen to remain in Mississippi for my choice of school: I will not be straying far from my family, my friends, and the community I have known and with which been blessed my entire life.
As our favorite childhood author Dr. Seuss once said, “Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.” We gather here today to celebrate this moment of graduating from Sutton High School. Although this day will soon become a distant memory, the valuable moments that this class of 2016 has experienced are unforgettable. From the very first moment we walked through the high school doors, to the last time we shut our lockers for good, we all have to face a truth, whether we want to or not, everything eventually ends.
As a curious and excited student, my dream is to enrich myself in an education that is undeniably diverse and rich in culture. The epitome of what I am searching for is found holistically at New York University. I am a person who becomes inspired while being around others who illuminate that inspiration. After learning about NYU, it is clear to see that each and every person is invested in their future and they take pride in their school, which is what I strive to do. I believe inspiration comes from within, but when it is ignited it cannot be stopped. If I am given the opportunity to be apart of the incomparable experience that NYU emulates, I plan on being the best student that I can possibly be. I will work efficiently and diligently, but
Hello Jodie,My name is Kyle McKenna I am currently grade 10 and attending Latrobe High School.
Welcome to Northwood Middle School- a place to successfully prepare all students for their futures! Here, you can be educated in a good working environment, but also partake in exciting activities such as clubs of all types, and exciting pep assemblies. However, this might seem strange but Northwood is also quite similar to a cell!
As the clock ran down my excitement for half time grew larger. My team and I rose from our seats in the balcony and made our way down the stairs, walking past our fans wishing us the best of luck. Descending to the bottom, I remember thinking of all the times I had wanted to quit cheer in the past two years, after we began lining up on the outside of the basketball court I knew that all of our hard work had paid off by being able to stand next to some of our best friends in our cheer uniforms which proudly represents Lennox High School.
Hello, I would like to be the first to welcome you to Niles West High School!
Welcome to the next four years of walking down the same halls, hearing the same bell and seeing the same faces, welcome to Pickens High School. As an upcoming Sophomore, I have seen a year at our town’s only high school and we are certainly blessed from remarkable teachers, bountiful amount of clubs to choose from and staff to assist anyone in need.
