Good evening everyone and welcome to the Nova Southeastern University class of 2016 Graduation ceremony.
The great Malcolm X once said, “ Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”This is true for a number of reasons the most important being that whatever one wants to do in life he or she must first start by creating a foundation that is stable and solid. The only way to do so is to at the very least have an idea of what you want to attain and what it takes to get there. Education is the gateway to accomplishing that.
College used to be a young person's game. The average person would graduate high school and college meant it was time to get serious. However times have changed and the …show more content…

As we evolve the goal is to change for the better. To look at where I am today and see the growth and change in my life is miraculous to say the least. I remember leaving home to join the military and finding out things about myself that changed my perspective on multitude of things that i thought had very exact opinions on. When I came home part of me was not sure what i would do next. As I started to devise a plan I knew that i wanted to be the best me i could be. Attending Nova Southeastern contributes greatly to that goal being a success.
As we enter the next phase of our life we must be serious about achieving our goals but at the same time not take ourselves too seriously. We must continue to tread forward and work on creating our best future but never forget our past. We must use our new knowledge to teach others but never stop being a student. And finally understand that although the world can be tough we must always keep the ability to empathize with others to create a better place.
So class i say to you if education is the passport to the future we have just received the first stamp of many. Let us fill this passport with a lifetime of learning and growing to create a better place for tomorrow's
