While reading the assigned material I thought of in this time era of dysentery and disease, who would leave their lavish life? Intriguing because after viewing the “real world” that was hidden from Siddhartha he would want to be subject to it. I wouldn’t, I would be extremely afraid and would want to stay away and ask questions first.
A Buddha is a person who is completely free from all faults and mental obstructions. This definitely describes Siddhartha Gautama, also known as the Buddha. He was once a prince who never went outside the castle, but found the people in the outside world suffering, left his family to make the world a better place. He practiced being calm, and even meditated under a tree for seven days. He was a spiritual leader, and, to this day, his methods are practiced throughout the world.
