The largest US law enforcement presence aboard is staffed by ICE under the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Homeland Security Investigations International Affairs Office (HSI-IA). DHS has 69 offices situated in 47 countries to include staff situated at seven US military combatant commands. HSI-IA’s mission is the protection of the US through augmentation of its security with the utilization of global investigations involving those TCOs responsible for the illicit movement of humans, counterfeit products, and technology. MANAGING THE INTELLIGENCE-LAW ENFORCEMENT RELATIONSHIP In 2010, the NIPRCC established local IP Theft Enforcement Teams (IPTETs) to partner and information share with US state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies
While the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is one, centralized agency, securing the homeland involves the cooperation and collaboration of many, different agencies and organizations ranging from local law enforcement to national agencies such as the NSA, CIA, and FBI. Each of these agencies contributes to the development of homeland security intelligence. By carefully analyzing and commenting on the objectives, tasks, strengths, weaknesses, and roles of each agency, a larger picture emerges regarding the capabilities and limitation of intelligence in supporting homeland security efforts.
Among the criminal justice organizations, there are numerous criminal justice professional associations that assist law enforcement with policies, standards, analysis, and training and education. The Department of Homeland Security has a mission to secure the nation from any threat it may face (“Homeland Security”, n.d.). The Department of Homeland Security duties are wide-ranging and their goal is to keep America safe.
Human Society and its Environment (HSIE) is one of the six primary key learning areas (KLAS) connecting the study of people, cultures, societies and environments. Because of this, I feel that this key learning area is important in early childhood and primary education as children begin to learn about themselves, their environment as well as their country in a way that is interesting and inspiring to them. Closely looking at the Geography syllabus, I have begun to think about why children should explore the relationships they have between people, places and environments including that of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their culture that has greatly impacted the way Australia is now. Geography is a subject that I find an interest in as I enjoy
Just as the various other bureaucratic agencies within the United States government serve specific purposes, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, does as well. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, whose headquarters is in Washington, D.C., was formed in 2003, the result of a merger between the Immigration and Naturalization Service and the U.S. Customs Service. ICE has many sub-departments dedicated to immigration control, smuggling and trafficking investigation, and terrorism
As two new co-advisors step up to lead HOSA, Health Occupations Students of America, Lisa Cardillo and Sarah Brink do their best to assist the club. The goal of HOSA is to introduce health careers to students, for the hope to enhance future health care. Students who are interested in the health related fields can benefit from joining the club since HOSA allows them to have an opportunity to shadow health professionals. Being dedicated towards the club and having motivation to lead, Cardillo and Brink use their experiences to help guide students to find their passion. Familiarizing themselves on how HOSA runs is a challenge for the new co-advisors; however, other obstacles that they have to face are planning field trips, and helping students

The homeland security mission and goals face many roadblocks and challenges in today’s world. The Quadrennial Homeland Security Review lists six strategic challenges which the Department of Homeland Security feels are of exceptional concern to the nation. Of these outlined challenges I believe that transnational criminal organizations
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency is the largest and pri- mary investigative arm of the U.S. DHS.46 ICE is responsible for identifying and inves- tigating weaknesses within the nation’s borders, developing intelligence concerning threats, removing foreign nationals, and enforcing over 400 federal statutes. The agency was formed in 2003 as part of the Homeland Security Act and is the result of a merger of several federal agencies, including the Customs Service, Immigration and Natural- ization, and the Federal Protective Service. Today there is information sharing between agencies at the local and national levels; resources and staff are shared, bringing together individuals from various law enforcement and criminal justice agencies, FBI and the Joint Terrorism Task Force.
The 9/11 commission clearly identified a problem with communication between the Intelligence Community and State and Local Law Enforcement which resulted in a new edict (from the IRTPA) of Information Sharing yet clearance levels and accesses quickly became an issue in disseminating information to those with a need to know. To help bridge this gap, the Homeland Security Act of 2002 was passed to crate the DHS by bringing 22 under its umbrella with a primary mission of protecting the homeland from terrorism (Blum, 2010). To do so, DHS’s key mission is to collect, analyze, and disseminate key/related information and share it with the IC and nontraditional partners (state/local governments as well as the private sector) (Blum, 2010). Likewise,
U.S Customs And Border Protection - is responsible for preventing terrorists and terrorist weapons from entering the united states.
U.S Customs and Border Protection has also been in charge in keeping terrorist and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S laws (Peak, 2009, Pg. 164). Consequently, immigrants have been victims of human trafficking. According to Larry K. Gaines from the textbook Criminal Justice in Action, U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has played an important role in focusing the nation’s borders. Their mission is to detain illegal aliens and deport them to their country, and disrupting trafficking operations. In 2008, ICE removed about
