Hamilton Demographic Data Analysis

Nestled in Southern Indiana just west of Louisville, Kentucky and south of Indianapolis, Indiana is Dubois County, Indiana. Dubois County is comprised of the towns of Birdseye, Ferdinand, Holland, Huntingburg and Jasper. Of those towns, Jasper is the largest and is the county seat (Kelly School of Business, 2014). Over fifty-two percent of the population consists of adults ranging from 25-64 years of age (Kelly School of Business, 2014). The leading cause of mortality in this county is heart disease, cancer, suicide and injuries (Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center & Dubois County Health Department, 2011).

The total population of Vernon, Texas as of April 1, 2010, was 11,002. According to the U.S Census Bureau, Vernon, Texas population was 0.04 percent of the state of Texas’ population of 25,146,100 and about 0.004 percent of the United States (U.S) total population of 308,758,105 (U.S. Census Bureau, 2010).

Recently Detroit has been publicly experiencing a lot of issues within the city, which has cause many people to speak out on the matter. Alex Johnson was no different, He wrote in article called “No Water, No Teachers: Behind Detroit's Surge, Old Problems Stubbornly Persist”. Throughout the article Johnson discuss the harsh reality of living in Detroit and the affect it has on the community. As I read this article I felt empathic for the people of Detroit because no person deserve to be without water or a stable education. Overall I felt that the article was a cry for help and that the government really needs to step up and help.

The Metropolitan area of Youngstown- Warren- Boardman has been a declining area over the last few decades, and hope is not near. The situation of this city is unbelievable, with poverty just seeping at the seams. The city is struggling with low education, job scarcity, and crime. People are fleeing in hopes of finding work, leaving the population to decrease. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Youngstown Ohio is the only city to lose more than two percent of its population in two years. People are scared, depressed, and finding dangerous ways to cope with the reality of the city they are living in. The Metropolitan area of Youngstown-Warren-Boardman is on a fast decline due to the impoverished living conditions these people face daily.

After my research of the neighborhood and, statistic facts it is clear that the Kings County population environment is very upkeep however, the community does not rank well using the healthcare assets accessible to them. There is a moment destitute and neediness level populace inside of this county. The insights and registration are tackled the region all in all, and not singular towns inside of the area. Consequently, the main source of death among the Kings County populace was heart disease and, cancer I feel as though based on the statistics of insured individuals it is determined that either the population is not utilizing the health care coverage and, or health resources that are in place for the community. I can honestly say that based on my community assessment that a major factor that always seems to matter is the high income families compared to the lower income families. According to the statistics it is evident that the numbers declined on topics such as health issues like Obesity and, childhood obesity, due to the fact that the higher income counties were able to provide a more healthy eating habit for their families where as the low income families tend to eat more affordable foods such as fast

Women in King County during the year of 2013 were surveyed and the survey showed a wide variety of fertility rates. The American Community Survey surveyed women ages 20-34, 35-50, native born, foreign born, and in labor force in King County. Below are five maps that were classified of equal interval to show the fertility rate in women among the demographics in King County. The choropleth maps were classified of equal interval because it was easily read among the other classification and it indicated the values compared to one another.

According to neighborhoodscout.com, more than 80 percent of the residents have white-collar jobs. Almost 40 percent of the residents have a college degree, and the average income for a family of four is $137,524. The population is 56,707. The city also has a low unemployment rate. The city has a public transportation system, but most of the residents drive cars. Most of the major streets have bicycle lanes.

The population in New England was mostly made up of English and White with many religious families, which included Puritans, Quakers, and Catholics which usually made up a large percentage of the population. The religion of the two areas greatly differed because New Englanders moved to escape the religion persecution. Although one would think it would become a land of tolerance there was a clergyman for every 600 individuals. I grew up in Hamilton, Mississippi. Hamilton is a very small community with one major highway running through it. It consists of several businesses. Some of these businesses include: Napa parts store, Evans plumbing and A/C, Michelle's Restaurant, Crossroads, Lackie's Restaurant, Ampot Federal Credit Union, Tronox, and the Grass Shop. Tronox is the major chemical plant here in town, and it employs many of the people that live here. Hamilton is also a major farming community that grows cotton,corn,wheat,soybeans,and peanuts. Whilst carrying out research it is important to be able to understand more about the context of this time. To some extent this poster is able to help us with our understanding surrounding some of the details about the evacuation process as well as being able to analyse some of the information that the government provided the citizens with during this time. Whilst trying to understand and develop my research on evacuees and how records were kept and handled, this document specifically is able to provide some insight into the different areas across Great Britain and possibly develop upon this in order to compare and contrast research that is compiled over a period of time.
