The first Harry Potter was published in 1997, the rest of the books were published between then and 2007. Harry Potter is about a boy who a powerful wizard named Voldemort wanted to kill but instead of killing Harry he killed Harry’s parents. Harry went and lived with his nasty aunt and uncle until he was 11. When he was 11 he got a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which told him he was a wizard. Each book is a year at Hogwarts that Harry goes through with his best friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. Throughout the books Harry learns why Voldemort wanted to kill him, why he survived and how he can prepare for another attack.

The Harry Potter series is the best book series ever. On top you see wizards, wand, and other cool magical things every human wants to be able to do. But deep down Harry Potter is full of literary elements including an epic quest for the three main characters, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and Harry Potter. Harry Potter’s overall quest throughout the books is to track down the evil wizard, Voldemort. He must also learn about why he is so famous. His best friend, Ron Weasley, is poor boy with 7 siblings. Ron’s quest is to become more brave and be the leader. Hermione Granger, Harry’s other best friends, her quest is all about knowledge and to do what’s right.

Harry Potter has been known to capture the hearts of both the young and old. My favorite books out of this series has to be the very last two. It is the most exciting time in the boy wizards life as he tries to defeat the evil Lord Voldermort. For those of us that haven't jumped on the Harry Potter wagon yet it is not too late! J.K. Rowling writes in a way that moves you along in the story and makes you want to read more.

His Aunt and her husband, Vernon Dursley, accepted Harry. Eleven years later Harry Potter receives a letter from one of the best schools of Witchcraft and Wizardry named Hogwarts, a school for magic people. When Harry finds out he is a wizard, he sets off for Hogwarts, where he finds that he is very famous because of his lightning shaped scar and his great Quidditch skills. He also meets many kind people and his very first best friends, named Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger. Another factor which I believe has led to the novels success is that while reading, the reader wishes that they could live in this fantasy world created by Rowling where life is anything but ordinary. The novels make the reader somewhat desire a life like the one led by the characters of the novels, like going to a school to learn wizarding, always having extraordinary things happen and just being at Hogwarts seems like an unequaled joy for some. These novels have the ability to reignite the long lost imaginations of adults, and keep the imaginations of children strong.
