"Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" is a story about an orphaned child who is given to the 'Dursley' family. The 'Dursleys' are an ordinary family, consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Dursley and their son, Dudley. The household is dominated by Dudley, who torments and bullies Harry.Dudley is extremely spoiled, while Harry is forced to sleep in a cupboard under the stairs. Mysterious letters then begin arriving for Harry. Mr. Dursley then quickly finds out, and starts worrying. Mr. Dursley then moves to a secluded island, as he thinks he is safe from getting any weird letters, when a huge monster busts the door of the hut open. The monster is named Hagrid, who is very kind-hearted but strong. Harry learns from Hagrid, that the Dursleys have tried to deny Harry's wizardry all these years. The next day, Harry goes with Hagrid to London to get his school supplies. They enter a place named Diagon Alley where Harry is fitted for his school uniform. Harry buys books, ingredients for different potions, and, finally, a magic wand-the same wand to the evil Voldemort's.A month later, Harry goes to the train station and catches his train to Hogwarts, which is on track nine and three quarters. As the school year progresses, Harry realizes that his Potion teacher, Snape, does not like him. When it is broomstick practice, the Slytherin bully, Draco Malfoy, snatches Neville's award and flies into the air. Harry follows him, trying to get it, but as soon as they meet, Malfoy drops the trophy, in the air. Harry races after it, and catches it magnificently. When the teacher, Professor McGonagall witnesses all of this, she tells Harry to follow him to an office and then instead of punishing him, she says that was the most skillful move ever for a grade I . Professor McGonagall then invites Harry to the Quidditch team. Later that day, Malfoy challenges Harry to a wizard's duel at midnight. Malfoy doesn't show up at the appointed place, and Harry almost gets in trouble. While trying to hide, he accidentally discovers a fierce three-headed dog guarding a trapdoor in the forbidden third-floor corridor. Harry Potter at first didn’t know anyone and didn’t know anything about Hogwarts. His goal was to fit in. Throughout Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone Harry seems to make new goals for himself. Then one of his quests/goals is to go and stop who he thought was Snape but it was actually Professor Quirrell and Voldemort. Harry Potter’s quest changed from fitting into saving Hogwarts from Voldemort, or as they say He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named. In trying to fulfill his quest he met some friends and of course some
Snape quickly covers his leg when he sees Harry looking. Harry’s hero complex now begins to show as he becomes determined to find out what Snape is hiding. The Ordeal that Harry faces leaves him unable to think of anything but the mirror of Erised, which has captured his full attention. He stumbles upon the mirror as he hides from Snape and Filch, but sees his parent in the mirror and becomes so entranced he can’t think of anything else. Harry has to overcome a great ordeal of emotion turmoil in order to get his mind back on track, demonstrating great self-control. Harry’s journey descends into the abyss as he suffers a detention in the forbidden forest. He meets Voldemort but is saved by a Centaur, he finds that Voldemort wants the stone and feels like he must protect
It is clear that the Harry Potter series has taken a journey on the Hogwarts Express to the road of international success. The “Harry Potter” series is the story of the eponymous boy, orphaned at birth and left in the care of the aunt and uncle along with the ill mannered son who make up the Dursley family who are known as “Muggles” (non-magical people). On Harry's eleventh birthday, Harry receives a letter from Hogwarts, a school that grooms young wizards and witches, and promptly enters a world of wonder and mystery. At Hogwarts, he meets his two closest friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger who begin there adventure together through love, friendship and learning about magic. Flying is his natural talent, and symbolic of his first triumph. The first time Harry takes flight is to defend a fellow student being bullied by Harry's enemy, Draco Malfoy. Malfoy steals a treasured possession from Harry's fellow student, and threatens to throw it on the roof of the castle where it would more than likely be lost forever. Harry intercepts the treasured possession midair after a fifty foot dive. A teacher sees this event occur, and recommends that Harry should join the school's Quidditch team, a team that plays games involving broomsticks, quaffles, and bludgers. It is symbolic that Harry's aid of a fellow student in distress secures him a position on the sporting team. “Broomsticks are cool, I mean who wouldn't want to fly.” (Howe “Sorcerer's Stone”). Flying is an act many of us have dreamed of. It seems only fitting that Harry should be compensated with the wonderful experience of flight after suffering such a depressing childhood.
The next morning, Ron got a Howler from his mom. The y went to Herbology where they repotted Mandrakes. Harry was going to Quidditch practice, after a few minutes the Slytherin team came to the field. They said they had to train their new Seeker, Draco Malfoy. Draco’s father bought the whole team new Nimbus Two Thousand and Ones. Hermione got mad and told Draco what she thought of him. Then Draco called her a Mudblood, Ron tried to put a curse on him, but
His aunt and uncle utterly despise him and everything he stands for because Harry reminds them of Harry’s parents. Harry receives a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and discovers that he is a wizard, and that his parents were not killed in a car crash, but by an evil wizard named Lord Voldemort. Harry gets his school supplies from Diagon Alley, a wizarding shopping center, and meets one of his new professors, Professor Quirrell, there. Professor Quirrell is a rather pathetic man who speaks with a stutter and is terrified at the thought of anything vaguely harmful. Harry goes to Hogwarts and gets caught up in many different misadventures.

They then tell Harry to be careful with his actions. Later on in the story Harry and his friends get lead outside to a secret shack because of a screaming that they hear. In the shack they confront Sirius the man accused of killing Harry’s mom and dad and they try to capture him. Sirius tries to explain to Harry and the gang the truth but does not get through to them because of Harry’s anger and rage. With a little help from surprise visitors Harry realizes the truth and his judgment changes toward Sirius. Sirius tells him he was tricked and that he was partly responsible for their death. But he would do anything to change the past. He was then appointed Harry’s stepfather. After another scuffle Sirius is caught and taken up to Hogwarts dungeon where he was to be executed by a dementors kiss (in which the soul is sucked out through the mouth). Dumbledore knows the truth and helps Harry save Sirius. Sirius leaves for a hiding place and their he resides until his death in the 5th book. The conflict in this story was trying to find Sirius and find the truth. It is solved when Harry finds him and discovers the truth.
Soon after entering Hogwarts, Harry must face a road of trials which will eventually lead him to achieve his unlikely treasure. While roaming the halls after curfew, Harry receives detention in the forbidden forest, and comes face to face with the Dark Lord. Other obstacles come to place when Harry travels down the trap door into the chambers; such as devil’s snare, a human wizard’s chess game, and the room of keys (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone). The series of tests make Harry’s mission difficult; however, the knowledge he gains from the unsuccessful trials bring him closer to his main goal. These minor bumps in Harry’s journey strengthen him emotionally and physically, readying him to defeat the traitor at the end of his succession of tests. Unexpectedly, the betrayal comes from the quivering Professor Quirrell who voluntarily gives up his body to the Dark Lord. Harry sees himself in the mirror and realizes he is magically in possession of the Sorcerer’s Stone. Shortly
he Ordeal itself stands separate from the other trials Harry faces, and you can tell right away that it's more serious than his other tests. Earlier in the film, Harry and his friends have the teachers to bail them out. And while no one wants to see Malfoy make that smug little grin, at least they're not in any real danger of being killed.

There is a sport in the magical world of Harry Potter called Quidditch. Harry ends up playing of the Quidditch team as a seeker, which is a player who finds a tiny, gold ball that flies through the air and the seeker must catch it in order to win the match. The Quidditch match in the film is an exhilarating part of the film. The entire school is at the match to watch the games. The crowd is excited which excites the audience watching.
In the book and movie series Harry Potter, the famous boy wizard goes through his many years of schooling at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, making new friends like his best friends, Ron and Hermione, as well as creating enemies like Draco Malfoy. Along with his friends Ron and Hermione, Harry continuously puts an end to the many different forms of the evil Lord Voldemort that tries to attack Harry each year. It is later on in the series when the interactions with Lord Voldemort become more frequent and more deadly. This is when Albus Dumbledore, the famous Headmaster of Hogwarts, teaches, instructs, and guides Harry to his ultimate goal of defeating Lord Voldemort, finally bringing peace to their world once again. In relation to the Jungian Literary Archetypes, Harry Potter represents the Hero, Albus Dumbledore represents the Wise Old Man, and Lord Voldemort represents the Witch or Sorceress.

In the Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling Harry starts of in the unfamiliar wizarding world of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. After lord Voldemort killed Harry’s parents he is sent of to his aunt and uncle's house as a baby. Harry does not like living with them but eventually at age 12 he gets a letter to attend hogwarts which he will soon find out that he is a wizard. After being sorted into one of the four houses (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, ravenclaw and slytherin)he gets sorted into gryffindor and finds friends in his house(Ron and Hermione). They have to stick together and work together to defeat him. This leads to one of the themes for this book series being that “You are much stronger when with friends”.
