Certain goals have always been in my head, but I had never strived for because it was something the Media made me feel I had to do. That was something was to lose weight. I’ve struggled with weight gain since elementary school, and I’ve never been able to get rid of it. I was active all throughout elementary and middle school years and by high school I tried to pretend it did not bother me. With this project my first goal became to lose 75 pounds in 5 months. To be 75 pounds lighter would be the ideal weight for my height. To clarify that would mean I would have to lose 15 pounds each month. If I can succeed, I would have a healthy BMI for the first time in my life. This goal is for my health, but for part of me, it feels like I have to betray the part that wants to fight the media who gives of the image that women who are more …show more content…
I planned on working out Monday through Saturday. The routine would be to walk for 35 minutes and for 2 days out of those 6, I was to strength train for 20 minutes. To really be able to make a difference I needed to change my diet. With the way my schedule is I only have time to grab fast food and take it back to the school and eat it (after my classes I head straight to work). I would limit myself to eating out twice a week, and fast food once a week finding a new lunch for in between class. Water will be the essential drink to my day, making sure I drink at least 8 cups a day. Most importantly I have to make sure I start eating a more balanced meal with more fruits and vegetables. For the my second goal, to keep my grades up, the most important thing I can do is to keep on top of the assignments in my classes. If it’s an online class and the assignments are opened early I should go ahead and do them. I have to stop procrastinating. I need to check in on moodle and email every day, and grades once a week. This is what will help to keep me on top of

In the article, "Why a Higher BMI Shouldn't Raise Insurance Rates" by Lita Epstein, the text states that "Insurance companies are allowed to charge higher health insurance rates to people whose body mass index (BMI) – a common measure of obesity – is too high." BMI stands for body mass index. BMI is used to determine the amount of fat in ones body. It takes two factors into considerations, height and weight It is calculated by a mathematical equation that uses those two factors to estimate the amount of body fat an individual has (). Many individuals don't believe this is fair because it doesn't seem accurate. According to recent studies, BMI may not be as accurate as one believed in determining weather a person is physically healthy()

My health goal was to change my eating habits. I chose this goal because I have a bad habit of not eating as well as I should. Although I usually do not eat fast food, I eat a lot of carbs. I was raised in an Italian family so macaroni and pizza are my two worst enemies. I figured that if I used this project to get rid of my bad eating habits, I would have an easier time eating healthy after this class ends. Before starting the project I realized that there will be challenges, but this project was not meant to be simple. If behavior change was simple, then anyone would be able to change behavior whenever they wanted to.
Based on my research, why do I conclude that parental responsibility is the best solution for the obesity crisis? (conclusion) What requirements does the government require for schools to have in lunch polices?

My goal for this fitness program is to lose weight and gain muscle strength and the way I am going to achieve my goal is using the magic bullet: diet and exercise. My current weight at the start of this project is 230.0 pounds. I will be going to the gym five days out of the weak and I will also start a dieting plan as well. My workouts will include upper body, lower body, abs, and at least thirty minutes of cardio at the end or before each workout. The upper body will include chest, arms, shoulders, and back on Mondays and Thursdays. The lower body will include legs, calfs, lower back and hips on Tuesdays and Fridays. Abs will be just abs with cardio on Wednesdays. Leaving me with Saturdays and Sundays to use as rest days and giving my muscle a chance to rebuild and grow.
The goals that I set at the beginning of the semester was (1) By December 1, I will lose 30 pounds of fat and gain 20 pounds of muscle by increasing my physical activity and eating 1200 calories per day, (2) I will improve my diet by drinking only water, incorporating fruits and vegetables, eating portions about the size of my fist, and eating three balanced meals every day, and (3) Within three months, I am going to improve my three minute step test heart rate by pushing myself to 70 to 90% of my target heart rate and being able to lower my number from 177 beats per minute (bpm) to about 100-130 bpm. I did not accomplish any of my goals this semester. The reason why I did not because two were unrealistic. I did in fact lose body fat though,
Ravenous by nature, the obese want food, need food and have an extraordinary talent of exposing all of food's hiding places. When the obese go on a hunt, food goes for a punt into their mouths and down the esophagus. Just like Pac-Man, the obese pursue their food relentlessly. To the casual observer, the food on the plate disappears in the blink of an eye. But for the obese, time freezes as they savor each and every morsel remains. On a serious note, the obese, caught in a continuous struggle between stomach and mind, undergo an everlasting relentless body mass gain.

The survey’s 2500 participants overwhelmingly agreed that when faced with criticism regarding their weight, they turned to food for comfort. They also faced harassments on a daily basis in public places and often failed to get promotions at their jobs because of this discrimination.
The topic I have chosen for my causal essay is the increasing numbers of obese children and/or adults in the US nowadays, which can be found on page 263 in our textbook. This is because the rhythm of life of our society has changed recently, and it manifests itself in exacerbation of many problems that really affect the quality of living of modern people. Our world has never been perfect and very often the things that we believe to be the signs of welfarism of the nation such as an excess of food can cause additional problems. These issues tend to be connected with our health and the thing making them even more dangerous is that their negative consequences arrest our attention only when the problem has reached its climax. The same is true for
