Who Is Hera

Hera is known as the goddess of marriage, ruler of heavens and earth, queen of olympians, and husband of Zeus, not stopping her from being anything but powerful. Hera, being goddess of marriage and childbirth, had a special appeal in defending married women.
However Hera was perhaps most famous for her jealousy and vengefulness especially toward her husband Zeus and his minions. Hera’s main priority is to be the protector of marriage. Otherwise, she spends a great amount of time punishing all of the women her husband fell in love with. “Her greek name is Hera Argeia and her roman name is Juno,” (Greek and Roman Gods). Ares, god of war was one of the twelve olympian gods. Ares is meant to represent the violent and the physical untamed aspect of war. The greeks has mixed feelings concerning his presence because of his dangerous side. Although Ares was known as god of war, he made it seem as if her were a coward because of his outrage after getting a slight injury.
Hebe, a perpetually youthful beauty, was named after having “youth” or “prime of life.” “She was the cupbearer who served nectar to the Olympian Gods to give them immortality,” (Hebe The Goddess Of Youth). Said to have little charisma compared to other goddesses and tends to be clumsy.
Eileithyia, the goddess of childbirth, had a priority of assisting with the birth of children. She was closely identified with the goddesses Hera and Artemis, both of whom bore epithets of her name,” (EILEITHYIA).
Hercules is Zeus’s son and son of mortal Alcmene. Hera has always despised Hercules, because of him being from another women. On the other side of the totem pole, she is seen as vindictive especially toward her husband’s mistresses, sometimes even his mistress's children. Being both respected and yet feared at the same time. Appearance wise, she is known to be even more beautiful than Aphrodite herself, nonetheless her personality is what had made her ugly. Hera meaning “lady” perceives herself as stunningly beautiful. Her sandals, chariot, and throne were all made of pure gold. Wore a high cylindrical crown. Once Antigone boasted of having more beautiful hair than Hera. Hera then turned her hair into serpents.

Major Attributions Hera contributed many attributions that became well known today. Animals that incorporate the peacock, cow, and sometimes the cuckoo. The peacock resembles pride and the eyes of Argos (watcher). Hera placed eyes all over the feathers of the peacock. The cow came from her eyes, big and brown.
