Modern Day Tyrants Do Exist
Everybody wants to rule the world, what a cliche- of course everyone wants to rule the world, to have riches, to have money, to have the power, and of course the best spot on the social hierarchy. Unfortunately, many factors come in when it comes to all of these things, so not everyone can rule the world. This gap between those lucky few, and the ones who are stuck saying that cliche phrase is the source of much dilema. Social classes limit chances for a successful future because of lack of resources and chances due to the ascendency of higher class, leading to a less productive society. Firstly, in many cases the lower class consists of very intelligent individuals, but they are not given that chance of education

They are given chances, opportunities, and high positions, and they even ignore the issue. “Sure we love a good rags to riches story, but perhaps we tolerate such inequality because we think these stories happen more than they actually do” wrote Nicholas Fitz. Not only are the lower class at this great disadvantage, but most of society is unaware. Of course, it can be stated that the highest of the high class may be aware of this issue. “The Median American estimated that the CEO- to- worker pay- ratio was 30-10-1, and that ideally, it’d be 7-to-1. The reality is 354-to-1… about 210 men dominate the means of activity in at least 85 percent of the activities that you own” writes Fitz. By not talking about this issue, and the superiority and secrecy of the higher class, the lower class eventually creates problems in itself that result in a lack of productivity for society as a whole. Charles Dickens writes in A Tale of Two Cities, “For other crimes as tyrants and oppressors, I have this race a long time on my register doomed to destruction and extermination”. The lower class rebels, causing crime, and a loss of productive and valuable society members and, with all this disparity, secrecy, and ignorance, who can blame
Your senior year was a wild, crazy mess. You started off the year not wanting to go to school to see Karson because you couldn’t handle it. You even left school some days when he would show up. You let your dumb self try again with Karson and it failed. You got hurt, and even cried.... A lot. You meet the love of your life, Kyle, and still talk to him even though you guys aren’t together right now. You both hope to reconnect after you finish your second year of college. Keep talking to him, don’t let him get away from you. You have had it tough this year, but by the end of the year you didn’t let anything affect you. Your grades were A’s and B’s all year. You made some amazing new friends like, Chandler, Clayton Ecker, Collin and more boys
Throughout my high school career I have taken several rigorous classes in order to test my academic ability. However, my school has not given me the opportunity to take a particular type of course commonly found at other other high schools around the country: Advanced Placement. Rochester High School does offer thirty-eight honors classes, but these lack the prestige of AP courses. The difficulty and curriculum of an honors course varies by school and by state, so universities cannot fully understand a student’s course load when this type of class appears on his or her transcript, especially when the applicant is from out-of-state.
The class system is still very much alive in American society and those in the lower-class deal with struggles that those of other class do not experience. For example, Americans born into the middle and upper class generally receive a higher quality of education, thus forcing the lower class to receive an education that is less than those who live in wealth. With the role that education plays in the likelihood of one to succeed, the people that receive the most generally are given more opportunities to achieve their own personal dreams. Those born into the lower classes also struggle with the lack of resources that those in the higher class receive. For example, a student from the lower class that wants to open a business may not receive the same financial support from their family as a member of the higher class would. Even with the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, those of the lower-class face challenges that make it much more difficult to achieve the American
My first day of senior year had been just like every other year, except my schedule was very basic. The goals I had in mind were mainly outside of my time in school. I had been taking college courses online to better prepare myself for college and to eliminate costs in classes, so I had to make sure I passed all of them. Another goal had been to save money from my job to accomplish personal goals after I exit high school.
My senior year is coming to an end, high school is pretty much over. With the finish line quickly approaching, I reflect on all the things I’ve done in these past four years and, more importantly, all the things I did not do in the past four years that I probably should have. In retrospect, I never did feel like high school was going to be where the best time of my life would be remembered, but now that it’s pretty much over I think maybe I should have treated it like it was. I would love to be able to say there is nothing I didn’t do that I wanted to and that I didn’t have any regrets, but there is a fair share of both. When I think too much about the end, I get sentimental about the experiences, friends, laughs, awkward moments, and more.
I am excited to finally start my senior year. From what my parents, friends and family have told me, senior year is supposed to be a great year. However, I believe it will be like any other year; it will not be the year I remember the most out of high school. Most of my family has been out of highschool for a significant amount of years, therefore, they do not realize how much the pressure on students has increased since then. Students now are expected to take the SATS and the ACTS in order to get into a good college. In the society we live in now, if one was to go to a community college he is thought less of because he did not go to a college that is known. However, I think community college is a great option for everyone. It is ridiculous
As I am entering my senior year everyone has told me to make sure and slow down because it will be over before I know it. This year I want to learn how to build a strong support group for my emotional well being and grow closer with new people. I am striving to try and make the most of my senior year, so God will prepare me for the upcoming years.
As a high school senior we look into what we want to do in our future. A big part of that is college. How do students know what college has the best opportunities? How do future students narrow down their options? A few things to look at when choosing a college includes the major of your interest, the campus, dorms, and class size.
The sound of sirens and a single baby crying was when I finally registered what I wanted to be when I was older at the prime age of nine. I can not wait for the day I will finally fulfill that dream and become a pediatrician not to benefit me, but the children and teens I will be able to help. As I am veering to the end of my senior year it’s that time to finally realize that after you graduate high school you will have to put all your will into getting to the end mark of graduating college. Being a college graduate does not come easy you have to work for it, and I am definitely ready for the challenge.
Education opportunities can be the most predominant when determining social class. Many people in the lower class often don’t have much education or none. The reason why power can be defined by social class is because people who are in the higher class usually assume that just because the lower class people don’t have
Senior year of high school is often thought of—by many older people—as the year you slack off and take easy classes. Well, why not? I mean, they’ve worked hard to get here, so why not go easy on yourself, as a reward. Contrary to the belief of those people, senior year is when you should be taking the most challenging classes in order to be prepared for college coursework.
Senior Year is the time where some of the most valuable memories of a young adults life are made. Although, it is said to be the beginning and end for seniors as we cherish, plan, and prepare. We cherish our last high school moments. While planning our next steps in life. Along with preparing to be on our own and live independent adult lives.
When you think about high school, you think about what you have seen on TV and movies or what you heard from other people's experiences. You will make your own assumptions about what high school is like but won't know for sure until you get there. But when you think about your senior year, you automatically think that senior year is the best year you will have because of many reasons. 1.) It's the last year of high school. 2.) You're preparing to go to college and can't wait to get away from your parents. 3.) You’re to prom in a beautiful dress with that special someone. 4.) Celebrating senior week with you fellow classmates. And fifth and last reason is Graduation where you say goodbye to your teachers and classmates but say hello to new adventures. Senior year makes you feel like the world is yours. My senior year, however, was different from others.
The idea of class systems has been around for so long that we can see it appear during the time of Nazi reign, Chinese dynasties, and even the Indian religious caste practices. People as a united body seem to just go with what they are told. In Robert Newsom’s opinion he believes that humans obey social divides because they want to and not because they have to (164). When God put man on the planet he did not tell humans that they would reign supreme. God told man that he himself should be their idol, but other than that humans placed themselves and even animals according to their own perceptions. It is probably safe to say that most humans eat animals, so they believe that they should have more say in world decisions (which realistically makes sense given that most humans are smarter than the majority of animals). The concept of human superiority came around during times of invasion such as the colonial times of imperialism and explorers. During this era, most natives followed the teachings of their invaders because they were told to do so. These teachings were also widely accepted because the invaders had new inventions and currency forms which were usually symbolic of superior beings. The fact that fighting back was rare for the lower classes is clear, but they also did not seem to question how their invaders got to where they
Certainly the elevated way of thinking that the upper class has adopted makes it difficult, if not nearly impossible, for them to take action in society. Not only do they spend more time jawing about the
