All your life you’ve dreamed big, but would your dream turn into reality? Imagine someone other than yourself putting it in your head what you're set out to be in life. Highschool football was everything to me. I've taken many sacrifices such as quitting my job; picking up unnecessary classes, and focusing on football it's self instead of other important responsibilities. These three things set me back, regrettably I became an athlete instead of a student athlete. With no desire to do anything else in life I always wondered when this is over what's next?
Dating back to my early childhood; football at the time was my only love. I breathed, slept and ate football. It started off as just a friendly hobby around my neighborhood up until my tenth-birthday when I joined a little league football team. Over the years I continued to play, it got even more exciting for me when my friends from the neighborhood start joining the team as well. Things suddenly changed for me moving forward into my high school career. Although this was once a fun stress reliever it was becoming the only thing that stressed me out.
Entering high-school was a bitter sweet feeling for me. I found myself coming upon new adventures, meeting new people and seeing new aspects in life. Quickly, I started to re-evaluate my life. I thought to myself that maybe I shouldn’t just limit myself to football, although at the time that’s all that I knew. Even with me growing I began to doubt my decisions but I didn’t
In retrospect to where I am today it its safe to say that I faced several unforeseen obstacles in order to achieve my greatest goal in life – that of playing professional football, where do I begin?
Football is my favorite sport its when I get to hit people and not get in trouble. I’ve been playin day we got a program started in our area. I have put more time into football then almost anything else in my life over the past 7 years. Whens its the off season im weight lifting or wrestling
I remember vividly arriving on the first day of seventh grade not really focused on the school year, but focused on my first day as a Collegiate football player that afternoon. However my new English teacher Mr.Bradshaw, noticed that on the first day and changed my priorities very quickly. The first semester of seventh grade was tough for me, learning how to balance school and sports is a vital part of my growth as a student athlete, which I am still trying to figure out today. Seventh grade was definitely a year where I learned a lot, I learned to not eat my snack in assembly from Mr. Rider, I learned that Bubba’s barber shop gives crummy haircuts, I learned the importance of leadership, and preparation, I have learned to dream, and not make dreams my master, I have learned to think but not to make thoughts my aim. I came out of seventh grade confident in myself and in my abilities, and ready to embark on the last part of my middle school journey, eighth grade. I went into eighth grade knowing my role as a leader of the middle school and ready to embrace it. Now at the end of my eighth grade year, having learned a lot in middle
Id have to say the number one reason I began football is because my whole family played it. It all started with my grandpa. He played right guard for the Miami Hurricanes back in the 50’s. He then went on to be on the Miami Hurricane hall of fame. I never got to know my grandpa because he died February 2nd, 2000 just before my birthday on the 16th. After his collegiate career he was drafted
I had always been told my entire life that I should play football. Always the biggest kid in all of my classes. People would ask me all the time what position I played, I had no idea what they were talking about and they were always surprised when I told them that I had never played football, and that I had never planned to. But the older, bigger, and stronger I got and the more encouragement I got, finally I decided to play my sophomore year of highschool. There was one game I will always remember that really kick started my love and passion for the game.
To this day I miss playing volleyball, and I wish I joined student council or the drama productions, but I’m also happy with the career I’ve had. At times My grades may have slipped, but after I got used to the transition from middle school to high school I pulled it together. Each year my grades have gotten better and made me feel really proud that I could accomplish this. I’m also proud of the relationships and memories that I have made. The times at football games playing with my friends, and sleep overs with the girls are some of the things I’m going to remember from my Freshman year of high
Stepping on to my high school’s campus for the first time, I felt a little nervous, a bit excited and very clueless. I rushed to my friends who were conveniently standing near the entrance; almost as to feel safe. The transition from middle school to high school meant very much to me. I entered high school knowing that it was my chance to finally work towards reaching my goal of attending college; it was the chance life had privileged me with. Looking back it all now, It was a change I didn't feel prepared for, yet, I regret very little and glad I worked as hard as I did.
Football was the first sport I’ve really loved. In my opinion it is truly amazing and whoever made it is amazing. I have played for years and It is still my favorite sport. I love everything about it, but my favorite parts were the practices, my team, and my games.
In addition, I had to make up the first halves of each in my Sophomore and Junior years while taking a full course load of AP classes. The fear I experienced during this transition was significant. But I was reminded frequently that unexpected change is part of life and how we choose to respond most often determines whether we will have a positive or a negative outcome. I worked hard to focus on rising to the challenges I faced and decided that I would choose respond with positivity. I am proud today that I adjusted quickly to beginning high school and made some fantastic friends. I started at middle linebacker on the junior varsity team as a sophomore and started on the 7A varsity team as a junior and as a senior, even serving as a captain both years. And finally, I have completed the transition of course work achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.894. In addition, I earned a Spain Park academic letter for 10th and 11th grade. The road wasn’t easy, but I have persevered through the insecurity of making new friends, the physical challenges of proving myself on the football field, and the academic achievement of maintaining my grades. Overcoming these obstacles has prepared me to face any challenges that may
When I was young I always liked the sport of football. Growing up I always heard stories of my father being such an extraordinary football player. Another reason I became interested in football was that I wanted a sport that would provide me with exercise to keep my body in a good physical state. Also, football has taught me good sportsmanship from starting off playing little league as a child.
I want to play football and become a professional athlete. I plan to achieve this goal in about five to ten years. It will take that long because I will have to be scouted and to be scouted you have to be good. As long as I get recognized by scouts I will become a professional athlete. I want to play football in high school and most likely will which is when I’ll be recognized as a great football player. I’ll have to keep my grades up and not get in trouble if I want to succeed in my goal.
Football in high school took utmost of my time. It made myself set family plus friend’s aside since it was a sport I committed myself to every day. I knew I was not going to be playing at the professional or college level yet I desired to have a good high school team; unfortunately that did not occur. My junior year, we won two games and lost the rest. During my senior year, we won four games and lost the rest, but that was two more games won than the previous year. Occasionally it felt like all that work and obligation was not worth it. During the last home game, however my team and I, did something outrageous. We proved to all those newspapers, opposing teams, and loyal and un-loyal fans that with hard work and team work, we were able to achieve great things.
I loved football at this point I thought it was my everything. I loved football so much I thought it was the best thing in the world that was invented. So I started to buy all the football games including MAdden and Ncaa from the year 2004.
It all started when I was about three years old when my good friend Anthony Williams and I became friends when he ran his bike into my sand box. Football has been an event in my life since I was three years old and it still is today. “The key to life is not what life gives to you but what you take from life. It’s not how life treats you but how you treat life. You have a choice in life. You can either thrive or survive.”_ Coach London. Football has made me into the person I am today, hard working, and determined.
I was sixteen years old when I was asked the question every High School student has to eventually answer. Where do you think you’ll be ten years from now? My answer was always, Playing professional soccer in Europe. It seems like a big cliché when a high school student responds with wanting to be a professional athlete. But it was my passion, I worked very hard at it and I was good at it. So it only made sense to go with my heart. I knew to be a professional soccer player was what I wanted and I never hesitated to say it. Until I was asked,” Well, what if that doesn’t work out. Then what will you do?” Now, I know it wasn’t wrong for my teacher to ask that question but it did change the way I thought about my life and my future. I’ll admit I went to a Technical High School, so it wasn’t the best school to get scouted out of for any sport, no matter how great my soccer career was at that school.
