High School Musical is a television drama/musical that was released in 2006, was directed by Kenny Ortega and stars Zac Efron as Troy Bolton and Vanessa Hudgens as Gabriella Montez. They meet at a holiday party where they end up singing karaoke together even though neither of them sing. They have so much fun together that once school starts back up they decide to try out for the school musical together. This causes drama for Gabriella because she is the new girl so a lot of people don't think she deserves it and try to cause trouble for her. This causes drama for Troy because he is the star of the school's basketball team and he is scared his team will make fun of him and not think he is faithful to the team by trying to do both. They sneak
When I went to go see The Lion King on Broadway a few words came to mind after the play; amazing, stunning, and unbelievable! I was a little unsure at first, because I thought I was too young to see something from a Disney World production. I was also wondering how Disney was going to manage putting a film starring non-human characters, into a three-dimensional stage. However, using all their “Disney magic” with a little help from a great stage producer The Lion King Musical kept my attention all the way through with their; voice and diction, staging, and many other elements.
I never thought that I’d care about sports in my high school. Throughout my childhood, I accepted that I had sold my soul to the devil that is musical theatre; it wasn’t until I attended Thomas Jefferson high school that I realized the heartache that would come with that decision. The only problem I have with my high school is that it is sport focused, and could show more love towards the theatre department. Not only has the school spent money updating the sports equipment and gymnasiums, but it continues to neglect the deteriorating stage that gets used and rented out by many dance competitions, concerts, and play productions.
High School Musical, begins when High School Basketball Jock, Troy Bolton (Zac Efron), and Mathlete, Gabriella Montez, meet over Christmas break at a teen party, where they sing karaoke together unexpectedly. After the break, Troy

Theatre is a collaboration of various forms of fine art which utilizes live performances presenting before the audience on a stage at a specific place within a scheduled time (Dugdale 10). The message is communicated through a combination of various channels like songs, speech gestures or dances. Stagecraft skills are combined with elements of art to make the performance more physical and near to real life experience. Theatre is categorized broadly into drama, musical theatre, comedy, tragedy and improvisation. Any form of these accepts integration of various production modes and collective reception to influence the artwork being presented. As a result of this cooperation of items in the theatre
When I first browsed through the different topics on which we were to write essays on, I was ecstatic when I saw one about rock and roll. Once I started skimming through all the bands and artists I know and love, I knew there would be no problem writing this essay. I firmly believe that I was born in the wrong generation of music because I am a hardcore oldies junkie at heart. For this reason, the bands I have selected are as follows: The Beastie Boys, Fleetwood Mac, The Police, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash, and The Righteous Brothers.
In 1951, Frank Loesser’s Guys & Dolls opened and received what were said to be “the most unanimously ecstatic set of reviews in Broadway history” (Block 200). For a show whose development included disappointing librettos from eleven different writers, this feat was truly unbelievable (Lewis 73). The unprecedented success of Guys & Dolls and its ability to remain culturally significant, as a popularly revived piece, is the product of several attributes unique to this show. The unusual writing progression that led to a truly integrated libretto in terms of the relationship of the score to the text, Loesser’s assimilation of a unified, yet distinctive style of speech into his lyrics for the
Royalton High School follows a 7 period day schedule, 50 minutes class periods, typically 5 days a week beginning at 8:15am and ending at 3:22pm. A regularly scheduled day consists of seven four minute passing periods and a 15 minute homeroom at the end of the day. Homeroom is not considered as a scheduled class, and even though it is not required, it is still beneficial to many students. The sole purpose of homeroom is to inform students of extracurricular activities, scholarships and college visits, the announcements, and reduce class absences.
The plot to High School Musical is that the male main character, Troy, meets the female main character, Gabriella, at a New Years party. During the holiday break, Gabrielle moves to Troy's school district, and they see each other in the hall when school starts again. Troy and Gabriella are thrilled, but there's a catch. Troy is a jock, who plays baseball, and Gabriella is a brainiac, who's trying to start fresh. Together they fall in love and find a mutual love of theater. Consequently, Sharpay and Ryan, who are consistently given the lead roles, feel threatened. They try to break up Troy and Gabriella while the brainiacs and the basketball team cooks up a plan to do the same. In the end, Troy and Gabriella end up together, and everyone else is ok with it. Add some predictable plot twists, and a few cheesy musical numbers and you have High School Musical! Highschool Musical sounds exceedingly similar to Romiette and Julio. People are trying to break up the main couple, but they push through and stay together anyway. There are multiple other stories with similar plot lines, such as Cinderella. I hope that the story ends well for Romiette and Julio just like it did for so many other
Jukebox musicals began in film and later shifted to theatre. They had begun to make theatre more popular with the public, which had begun to gravitate towards film and music. By combining the two, they gain some of the same as well as a whole new audience. I will discuss how this came to be by speaking of the shift that occurred.
Rent. To most people it is associated with an apartment, house, or another object. This word rarely conjures pleasant memories, but more often annoyance and stress. However, when someone mentions rent to me, my mind races to some of the most memorable experiences in my life.
The band classes this year are really good. We have been practicing really hard music so we will be ready for the high school band. The first year you take an instrument test to find out what instrument you will play. After you find out what instrument you are going to play you have to go home and practice a lot.
Wicked The Musical was composed by Stephen Schwarts. Schwarts has written many hit musicals such as Godspell, Pippin, and Wicked. From the musical Wicked only, schwarts has won the Grammy award for best musical theatre album, Drama desk award for outstanding musical and lyrics, and Outer critics circle award for outstanding Broadway musical. The show Wicked opened in 2003 and as of 2013 is the 12th longest running show in Broadway history. Wicked was immediately a sensation among the people, but the critics did not feel the same. Luckily, there was enough street buzz about the show to keep the showing alive.
Musical Theatre is an art that I always envisioned myself pursing at the collegiate level and what I want to make a career out of as well. My perfect musical theatre program that I would want, would be a program that would help me to achieve a better understanding of who I am as a musical theatre artist first and then hopefully I can expand my artistic goals and further develop myself through whichever institution that I am attending. The musical theatre training that I have received in high school through my creative arts high school New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) whether its been in dance, vocal, acting, or the productions that I have been cast
