Historians use objects and portraits to analyze evidence of a specific time period. It is useful because historians can figure out how it affected colonials and find out their living style. A great example could be the transition of how houses were built or rebuilt over time. An object or a portrait can easily be examined by historians so that they can know why people from the past use them for, and that how it showed whether the family was from the elite class or middle class. The “John Singleton Copley, Portrait of a Boy, c. 1758-1760” shows that children had toys to play with especially if their parents were wealthy, based on the surroundings of the portrait. This paper is a formal analysis of the Marble grave stele with a family group relief sculpture. It is a pentelic marble style relief standing at 171.1cm tall carved by a master. It is from the Late Classical period of Greek, Attic which was completed around ca.360 B.C. . I chose to analyze this piece as apposed to the others because I’m mainly attracted to art and sculptures from the Greek era. The overall color used in this relief is ivory with a few cracks and pieces broken off. There is some discoloration which causes the color to come off as slightly light brown for most of the relief. The story happened in west Africa in 1876. In story includes phenomenon of the society, and certain African cultures. Abina Mansah, Quamina Eddoo and William Meltonare most important characters in the story because they represent different hierarchies in the society and display different condition in these hierarchies.

This is important, because history teaches many lessons. Students of history agree or disagree with historian's arguments and what they say happened or what is the cause of some event.
Archaeology is the most common way to learn about the existence of humans. Many cultures have left written records behind providing information about life for them. The records left behind often tells about wealth, religion, hierarchy, important dates, property ownership and etc. Those records are often written from one person prospective and may not be all true.
