The Great Wall of China is often regarded as one of the man made wonder of the world. The wall was built over a 2,000 year period. Such a big and sturdy Wall did not come cheap in terms of many people killed, a huge investment, and a lot of time spent working on the wall. Although the wall did serve many of its purposes, was it really worth the cost? There are three main reasons the construction of the wall did not outweigh the cost. Many died in the making, huge investment for china, did not keep invaders out.

The Great Wall of China was built to protect China from invaders and to keep out raiding parties of nomadic tribes, such as the Mongol, Turic and Xiongnu, from modern-day Mongolia and Manchuria. The Mongols were a tribal group that would regularly raid China. The wall was successful in keeping the Mongols out of China for a while but eventually, the Mongols conquered China. The Wall also kept Chinese citizens from leaving China.

The Great Wall was first build by Qin and Han.The reason why they build the wall is because to keep the enemies away like The Mongols.However, the benefits of the Great Wall of China did not outweigh the costs.

How many people do you know who would gladly sacrifice their life to protect a dirt wall? Probably no one. The Great Wall of China was built by the Qin (221-206 BCE) and the Han (206 BCE-220 CE) to keep out the Xiongnu, their rivals in the north. It is estimated that the Qin built approximately 1,500 - 2,500 miles of the wall and the Han built 4,000 miles of it.  There is no query that building the wall provided people with jobs, but did the benefits truly outweigh these human costs? Of course not! The price was too costly to pay. The Great Wall wasn’t worth all the struggle. There were three main costs paid by the people of China: forced labor, death from starvation/hunger, and the loss of valuable resources.

The Great Wall of China is one of the most beautiful and biggest ancient structure. In ancient times it was very well maintained and now it is sort of maintained because 30% of the wall is gone. The wall shows pride and culture to china even though 30% of the wall is gone and now there are laws in place to protect and maintain the wall. However most of the wall if gone is from human damage.

For thousands years, the Mongols have been a big threat to the Chinese civilization. The Great Wall of China took about 2000 years to build and finish. It has been measured to be over 5,488 miles long. Due to the many threats and enemies of Chinese, the wall was built. In my opinion, the benefits of building the wall do outweigh the costs for many reasons surrounding the topic.

The great wall of china is the world’s largest tourist attraction, But many people dont know the dark history, and the many lives lost led by one man, Wu Di. Despite any protection from northern nomads the sheer lives lost surpassed any benefit of building the wall.

The Great Wall was built by The Qin and the Han Dynasty. They built The Great Wall to keep out and protect China from the Mongols. The benefits of building The Great Wall of China did not outweigh the costs. In Document B, it showed that tribute was being paid by The Han. The Han was one of the the dynasties who first built The Great Wall. This shows that the benefits did not outweigh the costs because The Han still had tribute to pay to the Xiongnu Mongols and The Han dynasty still had to build and protect The Wall from the Mongols. In Document C, the text indicated that The Qin and The Han dynasties were peasants, and worked on The Great Wall while they got feed a little bit of food and suffered. One of the wonders of the world today is the Great Wall of China which was inspired by none other than the Qin Dynasty. Other dynasties put in dedication to having the Great Wall constructed but the Qin Dynasty played a significant role in coming up with the idea for it. The Great Wall of China would benefit China greatly because it would serve as defense against nomadic tribes. When many think of the country China, the first thing that comes to mind for many is the Great Wall of China. Over the time period of the Qin and Han dynasty, the wall was began being built to protect the people from Xiongnu who lived on the Northern China border. This group of people was a major threat to the Chinese people. To fix this problem the wall seemed like the only probably choice and the enormous project of building the wall began. Though a great deal went into building the Great Wall of Ancient China, the benefits of the wall outweighed the costs.

The Great Wall of China stretches about 5,500 miles long crossing deserts, mountains, grasslands, and plateaus. It took more than 2,000 years to build this incredible manmade structure. Many people died to build this wall. It displays the changes between the agricultural and nomadic civilizations. It proves that the superb structure was very important to military defense. It became a national symbol of the Chinese as a security for their country and its people. The Great Wall of China must be preserved at all cost because it is a historical symbol that made it possible for China and other nations across the world to prosper (UNESCO World Heritage Centre: The Great Wall).

It was the Ming Emperors, who restored the buildings of the Wall after ending the conflicts with invaders. During the Ming Dynasty, the wall was reconstructed, repaired and rebuilt, and new sections were also added. "Many dynasties reigned over China during this almost 2000 year project," and the final major renovations were done during the Ming Dynasty (par.3). The time needed to complete the Great Wall is much longer than that used to build the pyramids.

In America, there are seven New Wonders along with seven Old Wonders of the world. Surprisingly, The Great Wall Of China isn’t on either of them, but it is an extraordinary length of 5,500.3 miles long. It was constructed by the emperor of China to detain out invaders in 723 BC.
