Horror is a film genre which is made to trigger an emotional response to its audiences. This is done by playing on the audiences worst fears in society such as animals, ghosts, diseases etc. the scenes in horror films often scare or shock the audiences different events in the film such as supernatural. The horror genre sometimes can overlap the thriller genre. using the horror genre in films many can tell a story from the point of view of the monster, victim , revenge and survival. the horror genre is never one hundred percent fixed. this is because genre / horror genre overtime evolves over time to offer the audience variation of the theme. Horror is just not one set genre there are various sub genres. this is a subdivision of genre. examples of subgenres of horror are Demons, Ghosts, Gothic, Humorous Horror and Monsters. there are five sets of rules of horror genre.

It's about a young lawyer travelling to a remote village where he discovers the vengeful ghost of a scorned woman terrorizing the local people in the village. the films subgenre is gothic horror. the protagonist in the film is seen as vulnerable and innocent at the start of the film. which is typical of the horror genre. we have the deserted state manor in the film which is very common in horror films also. the isolated and deserted house adds the theme of tension and fear to its audience. the dark and suspense music is used throughout the film. the audience can hear instruments such as like xylophone and bells and fast pace music. this is typical of the horror genre to allow the audience to know the nature of the film. the music causes the audience to feel uncomftable and to know that when they hear the music something scary or bad is happened or going to
