I believe that the Hospitalist Project or the Comprehensive Care Program is the ideal program for me. It will be an opportunity for me to involve myself in clinical research as well as obtaining valuable experience that will aid me down my life path.
The Hospitalist Project is the choice that I believe is suited best for me. I have good interpersonal skills as a result of past work related experiences. Also I have done many community service events where I was required to work in teams with other individuals. The Hospitalist Project would not only allow me to test my previous experience in working with people but also improving my ability to communicate with others as well.
Ultimately, I wish to enter medical school and become a doctor.
1. Using the historical data as a guide (Exhibit 6.1), construct a pro forma (forecasted) profit and loss statement for the clinic's average month for all of 2010 assuming the status quo. With no change in volume (utilization), is the clinic projected to make a profit?
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center was founded in 1884 as New York Cancer Hospital on Manhattan’s upper west side by a group that included John J. Astor and his wife, Charlotte. According to WebMD they stated that in 1899, the name was changed to General Memorial Hospital for the treatment of cancer and allied diseases. In 1916, the word “General” was dropped and the new name became Memorial Hospital for the treatment of cancer and allied diseases. In 1936, the hospital began a move to their present location on York Avenue, on land that was donated by John D. Rockefeller, Jr., and the new Memorial Hospital opened in 1939. The building, which was reconstructed between 1970 and 1973, stands on the site
In my time volunteering at the hospital, I hope to gain many different experiences. However, there are a few main ones: adaptation through enrichment and dependability. First of all, I want to get to know and adapt to the environment of the hospital and learn how different processes work. This is a crucial part of being in the atmosphere of a clinic. Also, the experiences that I will have at the hospital will help me to understand the routines and entailments of the career I would like to pursue. I hope to become a Physician’s Assistant in the future and this will be the best way to know if it is the right position for me. This enrichment of my understanding will help guide my passion for this career path and hopefully strengthen it.

If I were to give each of you $100 right now, wouldn’t you be happy? (Attention) Well I can’t do that. This is because even when something seems free, there is always a net financial investment. (General Purpose) We will look at the costs of running a volunteer program, the financial return volunteers provide, and the invaluable impact on the patient experience in a hospital. (Preview)
During high school, I was a member of the New Visions program; through the program I was able to observe and volunteer at Monroe Community Hospital and Strong Memorial Hospital. I spent four days out of the week at Monroe Community Hospital and one day at Strong Memorial Hospital. I was placed on many different floors. For instance, I was on a geriatric PT floor of Monroe Community Hospital where I watched therapist work one-on-one with patients. I went on room calls with therapist to observe care outside of the PT facility and watched how they set up patient care plans. Also, I was on multiple nursing units at both hospitals, where I would push patients in wheelchairs to their desired destination and help feed patients at lunch time. I was

By participating in Project Healthcare, I will be allowed to apply the knowledge I’ve learned in the classroom. There’s a difference between learning strategies and tactics and having the opportunity to apply them in a medical setting. I will be allowed to learn how the knowledge I received in class applies to real medical situations, by learning new skills that will help in my future employment opportunities. Whether it’s another medical internship in the future or an RN position after I have graduated from undergraduate school. I will contribute by giving the opportunity to positively impact patients and the community.
For my senior project I have decided to write about what I plan to do with my life after high school. In my life I want to help people and save lives. And what better way to do that than to enter the medical field. I also want to help bring new lives into the world and help people prepare for that. But I would also like to do something that I could do in my spare time when I´m not working and helping people.
Therefore, a career path that interest me is in Medical field but there’s so many too choose. My main goal is to go into Medical Coding then work my way up to work in a Sterile Hospital Compounding. In which, I can work both jobs at the same time when there is a short number of worker at the time. In addition, my ability is to help people directly and make them a happier person providing their health in a good condition. This field may not be easy or a simple job in some case, but a job with a lot of sacrifices and personal investment can do just fine.
With that being said, if I had to narrow my specialty choices to five, they would include family medicine, pediatrics, and internal medicine based on my experiences thus far. The idea of providing care for the newborn to the geriatric patient provides diversity that excites me. Serving as coordinator of a patient’s care and well-being stirs the relational being inside me. Senior year of college is often a time where people evaluate their lives and seek to do things of significance. All of the extracurricular activities and leadership positions that I am pouring my time into reflect my high view of relationships. From what I have experienced in the healthcare setting, primary care physicians tend to hold the same value. Primary care physicians I shadowed would look at the chart of a patient and always have a story to tell. I both admire this and strive to live my life in accordance with this

There are 11 hospitals located within 25 miles of my house, which is rather astounding considering I live in rural Pennsylvania. Hospital compare only allows you to compare 3 facilities at a time. I chose to look the Hospital where I work. Our major competitor and a tertiary hospital to which we refer our trauma cases 20 miles away. It is interesting that several of the facilities listed are not really hospitals at all. The website is deceiving and includes surgery centers. You can only tell they are not Hospitals because they are listed as having no emergency services. Under general information all 3 hospitals were similar. Our hospital and our competitor carries a 3 star rating. I was surprised the tertiary hospital only had a one
One’s path in life is guided by a series of choices. Making the right choice can be life-changing. Obstacles can be viewed as barriers but they often open doors to opportunity. Throughout my life I have had many surgeries, medical problems, and injuries that have helped mold me into the strong, compassionate person I am today. I have had the opportunity to meet many healthcare workers along the way that have shared their knowledge and goals. This has given me a passion to work in healthcare providing all people the same empathy and medical expertise that I have been shown. Though I am unsure what specific field I will pursue, any career in healthcare will allow me the chance to interact with people of all races and backgrounds. The College
