The lives of humans of the ancient world were greatly affected by the geography of the region that they lived in. The geography dictates what the people would eat, builds, and grow and where they would live. Based on the documents people of the ancient world lives were different to each other because of their geography. On example of how geography shaped the lives of earlier humans is document 2. Document 2 shows a map of Paleolithic, Neolithic China and where civilizations were located. Most of the civilizations were located next to major rivers, such as the Yellow River, This proves that geography affected where people lived, the rivers gave them a source of food and water and that’s enough for them to settle there. Another example is document 4, from “the Legend of Yu” it said “I opened the passages for the streams throughout the nine provinces and conducted them to the sea”, …show more content…

From Document 6 it said “ Praise to thee, O Nile…that waters the meadows, that nourishes all cattle, that gives drinks to desert places…that makes barley and creates wheat” this shows that geography greatly affected the lives of the ancient Egyptians. The Nile River gave them a source of food and water and it watered the crops. Without the Nile River Ancient Egypt would have been very different. Another example is when agriculture started to become a way of living. Because of the crops that grew at different places, people were affected massively. Such as in the South East Asia they grew rice, which was an easy crop to grow and harvest. So the geography of Asia shaped the lives of human positively. But this wasn’t the same for New Guinea; because of New Guinea’s geography it affected them less positive than it did to Asia. Crops such as bananas were harder to farm and wasn’t enough to keep New Guineans nutritious. Because of geography location some were bless with food and others were blessed with
