Jaden Oh Ms. Suzuki English 7 7 March 2016 Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the worlds most famously known African American activists, credited for his work to improve the justice system which so wrongfully discriminated African Americans in 1963. Racial discrimination or exclusion became a problem that he and his followers knew all too well, but tried desperately to fix. Racial Discrimination still exists today, and sadly enough is blown out into the media. People constantly are shown how the police target Black civilians and then violently harm them with extreme forces. was born on January 15th, 1929 to Alberta Williams King, and Martin Luther King Sr. in Atlanta Georgia. Martin Luther King Jr’s father was a religious Minister and had two siblings, Christine King Farris (Born September 11th, 1927), and Alfred Daniel Williams King (Born July 30th, 1930). The Kings and Williams families were rooted in rural Georgia. Martin Luther King Jr.’s father fought against racial prejudice, not just because his race suffered, but because he considered racism and segregation to be an affront to God's will. Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, Martin Luther King Jr. began public school at age 5. King attended Booker T. Washington High School. He skipped the ninth and eleventh grades, and entered Morehouse College in Atlanta at age 15. In his lifetime, “King received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, among several other honors. King was assassinated in April 1968, and continues to be remembered as one of the most lauded African-American leaders in history, often referenced by his 1963 speech, "I Have a Dream.” (Martin Luther
