How Did Martin Luther King Jr. Was The Reason That Segregation Stopped

Imagine what it would be like to have to use a separate drinking fountain, restaurant, and even get a different education solely based on one ones race. This ignorant way of thinking created a division between many whites and African Americans in the United States, But what also came out of this mind set was many courages leaders rose up out of the darkness and into the light for one reason, equal rights for all the United States citizens. Martin Luther King Jr. and Jackie Robinson both incredibly strong spirited, and courageous leaders, helped put a stop to segregation.

When Martin Luther King stopped racism he allowed other kids and adults on the different race to join together and be friends. So now we can even go to the same school, same store, same house. We can do whatever we want with the different race all thanks to Dr. Martin Luther King jr. there is no such thing as black schools and white schools anymore. We can now drink from the same water fountain. We can now eat at the same restaurant.

Throughout the history of the United States there have been many social changes that affects us as a whole. Definitely the most significant one would have to be the civil rights movement in the 1960’s. Ever since the termination of slavery in the year 1863 conflict was a major issue between different races that where all living in the United States. Since this has become a problem between races rights were starting to be violated consistently just because of the color of another person’s skin. Of course the changes that were made throughout the civil rights movement brought on violence from mainly white southerners. Martin Luther King Jr. believed in African - American civil rights. He saw how badly African - Americans were being treated, even into the mid 20th century. He wanted equal rights for all, but he wanted to obtain this in a non violent way. He wanted African - Americans to have the same rights as for say, any white man. Johnson, whose actions largely influenced the civil rights movement during the 60's. Of these two great leaders that were active during the Civil Rights Movement, one of them stands out; Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is better-known for his efforts in the civil rights movement, for example his belief of nonviolent protests and the forming the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. People of color were discriminated against in many ways. Segregation kept them separated. They were not to use the same schools, bathrooms, or even drinking fountains as white people, and the facilities they were allowed to use were of lesser quality. He was an example of perseverance and motivation, a leader in peaceful protests, and a role model to all.
