Some believe that Saddam Hussein should have not died because he did not actually finish creating the nuclear weapons, others think that it is better now that he is gone. He had many nuclear weapon facilities that were made. Hussein hid this from International Atomic Energy agency or the IAEA for many years. He definitely did not plan on using these weapons for good, and if he did finish then there would have been quite a disaster. These nuclear bombs and weapons he wanted to create would have killed a ton of people. In trying to create these bombs and weapons in Iraq, Hussein knew exactly what he was doing and tried his best to hide it. In knowing the history of the nuclear weapon program maybe there could have been something to stop the damage …show more content…
On September 9, 2002 it states that Saddam Hussein could have built a nuclear bomb in months if he was able to get the material he needed. He had wanted to make nuclear weapons and went on a worldwide hunt for materials to make an atomic bomb. In previous months, Iraq wanted to buy thousands of specially designed aluminum tubes. The IAEA believed that these were made to enrich the uranium. When the IAEA and the UNSCOM finally found out during one of the inspections they wanted to get rid of all the weapons and equipment in the facilities. Saddam Hussein never got to finish what he started because he was executed on December 31, 2006 for his actions of the nuclear facilities and killing his own people. Iraq still has the expertise and some of the materials needed to build nuclear weapons. Before Saddam Hussein death, he had repeatedly met with his nuclear scientists for two years because he wanted to continue in developing his nuclear program. This never happened because in 2003 he was caught and was put in a United States base in Baghdad until he was handed over to Iraqi government to face crimes against humanity on June 30 2004. He requested to get shot for his death penalty but was hung
Hitler was born on April 20th, 1889 in Braunau am Inn, Austria. He died April 30th, 1945, in Berlin, Germany, by committing suicide. Eva Hitler, Hitler’s wife, killed herself along with him. Theories include that he shot himself and took a pill of cyanide. Some other people say that he died just from the cyanide, and others say he just shot himself with a pistol. No-one exactly knows why Adolf Hitler killed himself.
Here are some details about the atomic bombs, Fat Man was an implosion-type bomb and Little Boy was a normal type of atomic bomb. Many lives were lost when the atomic bombs exploded do you think it could have been avoided? By dropping the atomic bombs on Japan the war ended and many lives were saved and that is why I think dropping the atomic bombs on Japan was justified. When the atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki all living things in a five square mile radius of where the atomic bombs impacted died instantly, it ended the war and saved thousands lives and that is why dropping the atomic bombs on Japan was
The first reason as to why dropping the atomic bomb was the right decision is because it would end the war. Ending the war would be a good idea because at this time in the war, the United States along with many other nations have lost too many lives. This war was the most catastrophic war in history because of the number of casualties. “The most destructive war in all of history, its exact cost in human lives is unknown, but casualties in World War II may have totaled 50 million service personnel and civilians killed.” (HistoryNet) Other nations suffered losses including the USSR (42,000,000), Germany (4,000,000) ,
Now that you know the basic story of what is said to have happend I'm going to go over what some people believe actually happend and the evidence. The theory goes that he did not kill himself instead Hitler and his wife escaped and moved to Argentina.
President Truman made the best decision he could have when he chose to drop the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki during WWII. When you ask any historian whether or not Truman was right to drop the atomic bomb, you’re asking one of the most debated questions among them. This may seem like it should have a simple yes or no answer, but if you look deeper than the surface level, you’ll see it’s a lot more complex than that. Some think he was wrong to drop the bomb, and morally he was. However when you put yourself in the shoes of a president protecting your country and look at the war from a political and strategic viewpoint, you begin to realize he was right for dropping the bomb.
Before they knew what happened, thousands of people were dead. Towards the end of World War II, Japan would not surrender so President Truman made a big decision and decided to drop the atomic bomb. This bomb was deadly and killed people instantly. President Truman’s decision to drop the atomic bomb was questioned by many. He made the wrong decision to drop the atomic bomb because other methods could have worked, it killed lots of innocent civilians, and the war could have ended soon without the atomic bomb being dropped.
There is no simple answer as to whether the atomic bomb should have been dropped on japan or not, I believe that the decision made by Harry Truman over 70 years ago was the wrong one, yet I am painfully aware of his reasoning. After all hiroshima and Nagasaki were not the only barbaric acts of this war.
The U.S. should have dropped the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki because the bomb brought the cruel war to an end quicker than it would have been without it. 50 to over 80 million lives were taken during the war and the numbers would have continued growing if it hadn't been dropped. It was up to President Harry S. Truman to decide whether or not they should drop the bomb. When defending his decision to drop it he says, “But we knew that our enemies were on the search for it. We now know how close they were to finding it. And we know the disaster which would come to this nation...to all civilizations, if they had found it first....” President Truman believed that if the U.S. did not use the bomb first then the Japanese would have. The U.S. used the Atomic
We saved a lot of lives by dropping them." (Document 16) This decision was not easy but when the lives of four million people are at stake, killing a couple of thousand is justified. Argument have been mad that the US did not know what the consequences of the bomb would be. This is because “Less than two percent of the Hiroshima bomb's uranium actually detonated” (Robert Sorokanich) and even so, the effects explosion was enormous.
I don’t know about you but I would much rather get the war over and done with. Dropping the atomic bomb was the right choice because it ended the war pretty much right then and
A decision is as simple as it is complex, especially one as influential and impactful as the decision to drop a nuclear bomb on Japan. The consequences and the never ending debates on the matter ripple through to this day, including the many alternatives or whether it was a morally acceptable choice. As this is a pretty controversial topic, I feel the need to put an emphasis on the fact that the decision to bomb Japan was made at a time of war. We are here, today, at peaceful times, looking upon a heavy decision that was made at a much more chaotic time. With that said, that decision was not made lightly.
(Gregory) If the Government is using weapons they clearly are not fully capable of understanding and controlling, can the use of such a weapon truly be justified? There were many unforeseen long term effects, the radios fall out effected crops growth, effected unborn babies, and poisoned thousands with radiation. The Atomic bomb only caused much pain and suffering not just for those directly hit by the bomb, but even those born
Although the atomic bomb was a new and quick solution to the war, the U.S. could have chosen other options to finish it. As a result of bombings
To start off our list at #6 Saddam Hussein was the dictator of Iraq from 1979 to 2003. He was leader of the chemical attack on the Kurdish village of Halabja, which in return killed 5,000 people. Saddam’s 1987- 1988 campaign against the Kurds, killed 50,000 - 100,000 people. He reportedly had about 40 of his relatives killed. Many of his victims were tortured as a result he filmed it so he could watch them suffer at his house. He was the cause of many Iraqis’ death, because of his lust for power. He had executed over 400,000 innocent people.
The main reason for invading Iraq was because America is concerned about the nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons Saddam Hussein might have. Intelligence indicated Saddam was reconstituting its nuclear weapons program and maintained links to al Qaeda affiliates to whom it might give such weapons to use against the United States. After two years of examining Iraq, the weapon search group failed to find weapon of mass destruction stockpiles or any program to produce them. The Bush administration has expressed disappointment that no weapons or started programs to produce weapons were found, but the White House had been reluctant to call off the search, holding out the possibility that weapons were moved out of Iraq before the war or are hidden somewhere inside the country. But the intelligence official said that possibility is very small. It is very likely if Iraq was holding any kind of weapons that America is concerned about, they would have used it to keep U.S soldiers out of Iraq.
