The Treaty of Versailles unfairly forced Germany to decimate their own army and the treaty took away some of Germany’s land. Document B states, “Germany must not exceed one hundred thousand men, including officers…” Because of this Germany was left outnumbered and suffered a maddening loss of power. Germany also lost their treasured Baltic sea port, which they relied on for different resources (Doc A). More importantly, the German citizens in that area were forced to either relocate or adjust to their new culture. Due to these forced injustices Germany started WWII.

This limited their army to 100,000 voluntary soldiers and they had to melt down their armaments and where not allowed to have any submarines. This had the effect of making the Germans feel weak and humiliated and thirsty for revenge. This was one of the biggest reasons the Germans were annoyed and angered at the treaty of Versailles. Germany also had to pay 6.6 Billion in reparation to the winning countries; this affected their economy and was more money than the Germans were able to give. This eventually led to hyperinflation, but this is irrelevant to the topic at hand. This could possibly have been the point that angered the Germans the most, it made them pay for the debts of the war even though they did not start it on their own.

The territories that were lost were Polish Corridor, Lorraine Alsace, land below Denmark and land above East Prussia. The Treaty of Versailles helped cause World War II because Germany had lost a mass of territory. This was important because without the territory it would leave them unprotected. In Document A, it states Germany was going to have a fight with Adolf Hitler. Hitler suggested Germany should respond to the Versailles Treaty with violence.

World war two was a very deadly and gory war, one of America’s most deadly in fact. Around 80 million soldiers, civilians, and Jewish people were killed. The Versailles treaty produced German anger and humiliation sowing the seeds for world war two. Adolf Hitler was an evil man and many of the non-believers in Hitler, commanded malediction on him. Billions of soldiers died, thousands of families were affected. Versailles Treaty did nothing more than throw countries onto a trapdoor of chaos, battle, unsolved arguments.

It was a conflict between the Axis powers, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Turkey, and the Allies, France, England, Russia, and Italy. After the war ended the leaders met at the Versailles Palace just outside of Paris for a treaty to settle future disputes and avoid war. The treaty was finally signed on June 28, 1919 and because Germany was responsible for war damageous and costs, they were angry and humiliated. There were many different interpretations and perspectives of the origins of World War II. Some underlying factors consisted of the failure of the peace without victory speech made by Woodrow Wilson, the Treaty of Versailles where negotiations were made by George Clemenceau, Woodrow Wilson and David Lloyd George, the League of Nations which was founded after the Paris Peace conference and the big four. Due to these factors Germany dealt with major impacts, limitations and economic consequences. The treaty of Versailles and peace-making decisions paved the way to WWII by leaving Germany isolated and betrayed. After World War I, the treaty of Versailles and League of Nations were made as an attempt to create peace which failed.

There were other reasons that the Versailles treaty upset Germany and therefore contributes to World War II. For example, the territorial losses, the economic losses and the war guilt helped cause World War II. However the main underlying cause of the War was the War Guilt. In this the Germans felt humiliated and angry. Adolf Hitler was able to use this anger to to build German pride and strengthen the military. This evidently led to the formation of the Nazi party. After the war, a conference was held at the Versailles Palace, just outside of Paris, to hammer out a treaty. The Prime Minister, Georges Clemenceau, of France, David Lloyd George of England, and the president, Woodrow Wilson, of the United States, were the victorious allied nations that came together and created the Versailles Treaty, where Germany was given no voice and Russia was not represented because they were pulled out of the war in 1917.

World War 2 was something devastating that has happened and the Versailles Treaty may have been a reason that it even started. The main reasons the treaty caused this are: the treaty made Germany lose land as part of a consequence, they found it unfair since they were blamed for WW1, they had to pay for all damages caused during war, and it caused them to have a limited military.

World War II was partly caused by the Versailles Treaty. The Treaty infuriated Germany by taking their money, land and resources, and blaming them for World War l. All of this made Germany want to rise to power and start another World War. One of the reasons Germany was so mad about the Treaty of Versailles is it blamed Germany for the war. The Treaty stated, “...Germany accepts the responsibility of Germany and her allies for causing all loss and damage.” (Doc D) Germany did not agree that they were responsible for all the damage of the war; they thought this was extremely unfair.
