Each Baby Deserves a Fighting Chance A woman has a right to choose if her child lives or dies, shouldn’t the baby get a say too? Abortion was legalized in the United States in 1973. The choice was made by the supreme court in Roe vs. Wade that women, as a right to the constitution, have a right to privacy. She abandoned the right to her own privacy the day she became pregnant. The choice is not only the mother’s, but what about the baby? Abortion denies the baby the right to life as safeguarded in the U.S. Constitution. Everyone has a right to life, born or unborn. Constitution states that everyone has a right to life. When a woman chooses to get an abortion, it takes the right away from the baby. The baby doesn’t even get a fighting chance, it’s life is taken away before it can even begin. The mother shouldn’t be able to decide the baby’s fate without it even being born yet. The mother shouldn’t be able to decide the baby’s fate based on what she thinks would work best for her alone. She made the decision to get pregnant, she needs to live with the decision that she made for herself. It is in no way the baby’s fault, so the baby shouldn’t have to suffer. If the mother made the decision to risk getting pregnant, then she should have to live with the consequences. If she doesn’t want the baby, then abortion isn’t the only option. She could have the baby and give it away for adoption. The baby gets a chance at life, and a happy couple, that might not be able to have babies of their own, get a chance to be parents.
Abortion of a baby is murder. Many physicians in the United States have stated they can clearly detect brain waves in a baby as young as two months old. They have also stated that the baby can in fact feel the pain of the abortion. So, it is not only painful for the mother, it is also just as painful for the baby. The baby has a very high chance of being born healthy, with few to no problems. An abortion takes that chance away. Most babies have a very high chance of survival and being born very healthy. The baby deserves

Nine most major complications of an abortion include: infection, excessive bleeding, embolism, ripping or perforation of the uterus, anesthesia complications, convulsions, hemorrhage, cervical injury and endotoxic shock. These risks can result in even further complications, including death. They have done many psychological tests on women after having an abortion. The results are as follows: 59% increase in suicidal thought, 61% increase in mood disorders, 61% increase in social anxiety disorders, 261% increase in alcohol/drug abuse. So not only does the abortion kill the baby, it risks killing or permanently damaging the mother and her state of

Some of the possible risks and side effects of having an abortion is vomiting, diarrhea, warm and cold chills, dizziness, fatigue, allergic reaction to the medicines, haemorrhage possibly requiring treatment with an
Abortion denies the embryo the right to life as a safeguarded in the US Constitution.By aborting these unborn infants, they are not allowing themselves to meet these new identities and unique personalities that one day they will become. These unborn infants are our new future, they are presidents, doctors, firefighters, soldiers who could be saving peoples lives, and the wellbeing of our country, but if we don’t save theirs, how are we setting the example to our society that killing is wrong, when abortion is still legal? The 14th Amendment protects the unborn children from harm. Jennifer Mason, communications director from the pro-life group Personhood USA, explained, “requires, equal protection under the law for everybody”, she asserted, “and so we believe that every human being regardless of their location,
For centuries, a woman’s right to abortion has been argued. Individuals with pro-life and anti-abortion beliefs think abortion is murder. While others feel it to be a women’s moral right, a personal privacy right that has been implied in the United States Constitution. I strongly feel that a woman has the right to an abortion. However, the termination of a pregnancy is not something to be taken lightly, I believe the states should have some sort of regulations in place to ensure the woman’s safety and welfare of the potential child.
It is obvious that abortion is a topic that includes many grey areas. Whether an abortion is a right guaranteed to the mother, or if it is considered taking away the rights the of the unborn baby is one of these grey areas. Pro-choice supporters agree with the Roe v. Wade supreme court decision because of the way it applies abortion to the constitution. According to the Internet site Pro Con, the court case presented the idea that abortion fits under the “right of privacy” (1). By this, the court system is saying that each woman should be granted the ability to do what she wishes with her body. Although this right was not directly created for abortion, there are differing opinions as to whether or not an abortion could fit into one’s “right of privacy.” The term “right of privacy” is extremely broad, but refers to the privacy granted to an individual from the government. However, pro-life supporters do not think this should be applied to an abortion, especially because another human being’s life is at stake. They believe that the fetus should also be granted rights, as if they were a living human outside in the real world. Which is why many pro-life advocates make the argument that an abortion is killing a human being who cannot defend themselves. Due to this belief, there are many states who have passed “fetal homicide laws” (1). These were created to respect the rights of the child. As a woman who has become a mother, it is one’s responsibility to protect the human growing inside the womb; killing this growing human being, who is yet unable to defend themselves, has no other definition than murder.
Hi Lori, I do agree that Court should not have to declare a woman’s right to seek an abortion even though it is not expressly implied in the Constitution. As you mentioned, these rights are interpreted in the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. For this reason, a woman should have the right to their own body as abortion restrictions could deny women the rights to make their own personal medical decision.
In 1973, the US Supreme Court declared abortion a nationwide fundamental right through a trial called Roe vs. Wade and protected this right underneath the Fourteenth Amendment, more specifically, the right to privacy. A basic human right, especially one outlined by the Supreme Court, must never run at risk or threat chiefly because not everyone agrees with it. Under no circumstances should a pregnancy ever adjudge mandatory. Abortion is a Constitutional right and as a nation we must fight to give the right and freedom of safe abortions to women all around the nation, make birth control and sex education accessible to women, and raise awareness about the topic itself. The issue of abortion is a controversial one; there are arguments on both sides of the debate. In 1973 the national case of Roe v. Wade, sparked political decisions that created a national right to abortion. Further, "Roe v. Wade declared that unborn children are not `persons ' nor are they entitled to the same constitutional protection as `born children '" (Baird, Rosenbaum, 2001). However, Roe v. Wade did not end the debate, nor, did it stop both sides for continuing the fight for their individual beliefs. On the one hand, pro-choice’s believe that woman are entitled to have abortions. Stating that an unborn child is under the rights of the pregnant women. On the other hand, pro-lifers believe that a woman should not have the right to obtain an abortion, stating that an unborn child is a human deserving the same constitutional rights as a child that has been born. The political goal most frequently mentioned by pro-lifers has been a Human Life Amendment (HLA) to thus, reverse Roe v. Wade. The HLA would declare unborn children to be "persons" deserving equal protection under the Constitution. From an ethical standpoint, one can take either side, for not only these reasons but also many more that we will further explore. I personally think that abortion is a decision that can only be made by the person in question, and not between that person and the government or an HLA. We well first look at the overall argument of the pro-choice side. After which, we will delve into the
We all live our lives as we please all in accordance to the law, but when it comes to abortion people start to judge and try to regulate how others live and interfere in their personal choices. We live in a country based on freedoms, and women have and should continue to have the freedom to the choice of an abortion. A woman’s right to choose abortion is a fundamental right recognized by the US Supreme Court. The courts also have a category of classes called the ‘near-suspect’ classes, which include gender. Gender deserves protection from possible discrimination at the hands of the majority. Women constitute a majority of American’s and have been discriminated in the past. The Landmark case Roe v. Wade was decided and remains the law of the land. Making laws against abortions don’t stop abortions from happening; they just make it less safe, which in many cases leads to death. Therefore idea of supporting pro-life is contradictory, this is why the nation should be pro-choice. No child should be brought into this world where they are not wanted or are not able to live a normal life. Most people who are against abortion will never even become pregnant, so they should not be making laws against it. Pregnancy is a private and personal matter. Outlawing abortion is discriminatory and unfortunately abortions are being transformed from a right to a privilege for most women.
Abortion is very harmful to women both physically and emotionally, it can easily to cause infection or hemorrhaging, and may also cause infertility, or lifelong regret.
I understand that abortion is a very touchy subject but each side has a good reason. I feel that it should be a case by case and reasonable explanation on why the baby should be born or not. There are some events that result in a female getting raped and becoming pregnant and if the female doesn’t want the baby because of the traumatic event, then she has a right not have the baby. Then comes the idea of the male figure, who raped the female and he wants the baby. He shouldn’t have a say because his intent was not for a baby, his intent was to do wrong. Next, we have the idea that the female rapes a male or takes his sperm and gets pregnant, without asking. With this case, if the male decides that he doesn’t want the baby, he should have the right to restrict the female from having his kids. I think the answer can relate to Lawrence v. Texas because the court understood the idea of being closed door, and the government should not be involved in private matter, just like how I feel about abortions. I mean the people fighting abortions and wanting people to keep their children, is a good thing. But people fighting are forgetting that there are still a lot children growing up in foster
To begin with, having an abortion is mentally and physically harmful to the woman. First, it can cause mental, emotional, and relational harms to her. The woman might have a hard time with relationships because of the trauma. It is a depressing time in anyone’s life losing a family member. Second, the woman can increase the chance of miscarriages. This can be caused from the cervix being forced open and being damaged with small tears in the flesh during the procedure. Lastly, the woman will never be able to erase the baby from her mind. When traumatizing events occur, sometimes people have a very hard time not thinking of the tragedy. Women should not be having
Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy that is often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. As life begins at conception, unborn babies are human beings and thus have the right to life. The federal Unborn Victim Of Violence Act that was made to protect unborn babies from murder states that anybody intentionally killing an unborn baby should be punished for killing a human being. Abortion is a murder because it is taking away someone’s life. Even though the baby isn’t born yet, the fetus in the mother’s womb still feels pain while being aborted. No person, not even a mother, has the right to hurt someone. To keep a child, who can’t even speak, from growing and from living is a murder.
Abortion is the ending of pregnancy before birth and is morally wrong. An abortion results in the death of an embryo or a fetus. Abortion destroys the lives of helpless, innocent children and is illegal in many countries. By aborting these unborn infants, humans are hurting themselves; they are not allowing themselves to meet these new identities and unique personalities. Abortion is very simply wrong. Everyone is raised knowing the difference between right and wrong. Murder is wrong, so why is not abortion? People argue that it is not murder if the child is unborn. Abortion is murder since the fetus being destroyed is living, breathing and moving. Why is it that if an infant is destroyed a month before the birth, there is no problem,
Abortion is not only a woman's right, it is a woman's choice. Allowing abortion to e legal is immoral. A pre-born child is given the status of a product of pregnancy and never seen as the miracle only a woman can create. Compassion for the small one is drowned out under a demand for rights, but what about the rights for the unborn.
