Bronte characterizes Jane Eyre as a poor girl full insecurities who was constantly belittled by her own family; she couldn’t rely on anyone but herself. She was an orphan for a while and this helped her grow and discover her true identity, whereas Rochester was an old, rich man who was an owner and had so much to offer. Rochester fell in love with Jane who is the complete opposite of who he is and she eventually becomes a heiress which helped economically as well as the relationship with Rochester.
