What is stress ? Stress can be expressed as a butterflies in the tummy, worry, or anxiety(1). Stress may have a good effect on the individuals' lives as it boosts the performance and help to concentrate; However, the human body cannot always restates itself to normal after being under long term stress resulting in major health issues(2). How does stress affect the human body and mind ? Our body undergoes stress when responding to an unpleasant feeling, or reacting to a certain situation, and it is the body's way of keeping us alert and prepared from any danger(2). it is often believed that stress is only in the brain, but researchers found that the entire body is affected(2). When encountering a proceed threat or placed in stressful situation the hypothalamus ( a tiny region at the base of the brain)(1), set off an alarm system in the body via a combination of nerve and hormonal signals(2), which further stimulate the adrenal glands to release hormones such as epinephrine and norepinephrine(2). …show more content…

Small changes in the lifestyle, and behavioral balance, can relive stress(1). Making a plan in managing stress can help to turn stress to an organized challenges that could be taking one at a time(3). Sleep and relaxation are a very effective technic during stressful time(6). Asking for help and working the problem solving skills are a significant method to plan out advantages and disadvantages in every stressors(6). Stress and illness relationship is complex and symptoms and severity varies from one person to another(1). Stress has a significant impact upon the body's systems raising the risk for heart attacks and chronic illnesses(3).
