According to the masses Taylor Swift has been classified as an artist who depends on cliques to add essence to her songs and apparently her hit song “You Belong With Me," is no exception. Unfortunately Taylor Swift has fallen into a loop of controversy, whether her songs actually convey an emotional message or are artificial acts of love. “You Belong With Me,” is one of Taylor’s first world wide hits, allowing for a large quantity of fresh ideas. The song depicts the personified version of sentiment and sentimentality by expressing the personalities of two girls in love with a boy. The chorus compares these two girls,“But she wears short skirts ,I wear T-shirts, she’s cheer captain and I'm on the bleachers”. The glamourise girl symbolises
Anytime someone takes a complicated emotion and simplifies it so I know it like I know the ABC’s, my heart wells with pride and admiration with an intensity that's slightly embarrassing. The album is uniquely defining for me mainly because it fits into so many aspects of life. Although it has a seemingly shallow message about her ex-boyfriend Harry Styles, I have always thought of it as slightly deeper. With lyrics like “This love is alive back from the dead” and “Take my hand and don’t ever drop it, my love” I relate it to daily life. One song describes a time when all you want to do is hide, but the next track describes something beautiful and lovely. Just like one day the storms are raging everywhere I go, but the next God has cleared the skies and created something lovely. The album taught me to not be ashamed of who I am or what I believe, so for that I owe Swift big time. Finally, I recently fell in love with writing songs and at 1989’s core it's just the result of great songwriting. Songwriting does for me what punching someone does for someone
Taylor Swift likes to invoke a lot of emotion into her music and includes several things she has experienced in her life. One major recurring theme in her songs is love.
She is a 10 time Grammy award winner, and among the five artists to ever win a Grammy for album of the year she is the only female to ever win more than once. Her hit song “You Belong with Me” resonated with millions of young girls many of which connected with the lines “If you could see/ That I’m the one /Who understands you/ Been here all along/ So why can’t you see/ You belong with me”. She turns ordinary teenage girl experiences into fresh country and pop songs. She grew up fascinated by music which led to her success as a Country/Pop artist. She constantly strives to make sure that her fame does not get in the way of her truly being herself. Taylor does not read into any of the articles about her in magazines to avoid getting caught up in all the gossip that publicity spreads about her. Taylor has made a huge impact on music industry, from selling out Madison Square Garden, to record breaking songs and albums. Award winning singer and song writer Taylor Swift, is still forming her legacy as she continues to make history in the music industry, while garnering a large fan base worldwide.
It talks about how the drama of Swift’s failed relationship with Harry Styles simmers in the details of the verses before the bombast of the chorus brings the pay-off. A brilliantly crafted track on every level from beginning to end. But not only in that song, Billboard mentions that in an interview "Swift says she has hardly dated since splitting with One Direction's Harry Styles early in 2013, and the songs' musical styles follow the character types she plays on the album: train wreck waiting to happen ("Blank Space"), committed partner ("I Know Places," "This Love"), penitent breaker-upper ("I Wish You Would"), spurned break-upee ("All You Had to Do Was Stay"). Lyrical references to him are all over the album: There are several vehicular-mishap analogies (the pair were in a snowmobile accident in 2013) and even a song called 'Style.'" Even though the songs were inspired from him, I do not like the way she reflected her break up on these
Taylor Swift, a pop icon and polarizing figure, is often known for her empowering music, feminist attitude, and meaningful lyrics. Many of her fans praise the feminist messages some of her songs deliver, however others say she comes from a position of privilege and only advocates for white women. Still, a common perception of Swift is that she has evolved from an innocent country singer into a more controversial and sometimes provocative pop singer. What is ignored though, is that despite this perception, themes depicted in “old” Taylor’s music still displayed highly problematic concepts about gender, just in less obvious ways. Particularly in her music video for “You Belong With Me,” the audience if presented with a fulfilling love story involving a nerdy girl getting the popular. On its surface, this concept may seem normal, but the narrative of this video unintentionally conveys significant gender issues in today’s society. Thus, through her 2008 music video for “You Belong With Me,” Taylor Swift ironically presents herself as the ideal nerdy girl next door who gets the guy when she suddenly turns beautiful while demonizing a cheerleader, revealing problematic notions of how women are supposed to look and behave in society, as well as reinforcing negative female stereotypes.
Taylor Swift really knows how to have hidden messages and secrets throughout her lyrics and music videos. Taylor Swift also likes to trash talk other celebrities including Kim Kardashian and Katy Perry. Which gives a viewer a good chance to critic her lyrics and videos.
Thesis statement: Taylor Swift is one of the most successful female artists in the world who portrays her personal experiences through her music.
The tone of this song is hopeful. It tells women of all ages to stay true to themselves, even when everyone else around them is changing. This is mostly relatable to teenagers attending high school. In the song it says, “Hold on to your innocence, stand your ground when everyone’s giving in”. During high school, children are introduced to various new things, such as: drugs, sex, and alcohol. It is the students’ personal choice whether to give in to these new additions or not, but the song suggests they stand up even when everyone else around them has given in. The song has three stanzas with four lines. The rhyme scheme is grouped into pairs, rhyming the first two lines and the last two lines in each stanza. Rhyming two consecutive lines can make the song easier to remember. “This One’s for the Girls” is extremely catchy, not only by its meaning, but also its rhyme scheme. It makes an imprint on one’s brain.
Have you ever had those certain catchy songs that you just can't get out of your head? For me Taylor Swift is always at the top of my playlist. Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 and has a family background of singing in her family her grandmother was an opera singer. Ever since Taylor started recording her albums she has always wrote and performed all of her songs. She started performing at a very young age. At the age of 11 Taylor Swift performed the national anthem at a Philadelphia 76ers NBA game. (??) The contributions to Music demonstrated by the career of Taylor Swift to prove beyond a doubt the Country Music Hall of Fame should induct this singer Taylors worthiness of this award is shown in her awards, charitable contributions and impact.
This is an inspirational song for an average teenage girl, but as I pointed out there were some contradictions to the lyrics and the meaning. They may want to see themselves as beautiful in every way possible, but the world is a puzzle and there is a piece that is gone because of what has become socially acceptable.
A theme shown is media's image of a perfect girl. Throughout the book there is a contrast between the Cheerleaders and Angie's appearance which shows the theme. This contrast between the cheerleaders cheerful spirit with a slim body shape making them the media's “perfect girl” and “The Duke” (Nickname
In musical superstar Taylor Swift’s music video for her song “Blank Space,” she is portraying herself as the high maintenance and dramatic girlfriend that the media believes she is. The speaker of this text is the media’s perception of Taylor Swift and her message is about the disconnect between who Swift really is and who the media sees her as. I believe Swift has two purposes for this music video. One is for her character in the music video to warn her audience about the type of love that boys want, and the other for real life Taylor herself to poke holes into the media’s concept of her love life. The video is filled with satire and paradoxes to convince us that our idea of Taylor Swift is not an accurate opinion of her.
Taylor Swift is a worldwide known pop and country singer. She has always been someone I could look up to along with millions of other girls and boys. Swift has become very successful by simply disregarding all the foul comments critics have said to her, such as “you are foolish for trying to become famous” and set her mind on conquering every single dream she aspired. Unlike many country and pop stars that allow their fans to trash a city’s property during a concert, Taylor Swift’s requires anyone attending her concert’s to keep everything upscale and she does not tolerate any roughhousing. Swift is the perfect role model because she takes into consideration the younger fans she has.

The context of this song develops a strong social, historical and cultural environment of this song and background of what was going for people to understand and appreciate about what Lady GaGa is trying to inform others about. The social environment of the song is that people keep rejecting and bulling others for their gender or sexuality as well as the historical environment of the song is that people’s colour or religion has been used against them and they have been put into slavery and low positions in the world. Finally the cultural environment of the song is people and colours, marriage and gender. The background of the song is people have rejected people though out time who want to marry the same gender as them and slavery cause by people colour which was what happened to cause Born This Way to be written. This message is still relevant at the moment as people are still being effect by it but people are
