People interpret being influential as having someone looking up to you. Others define being influential as having power over something. Although some say that having too much influence is harmful because it can make you lust with power but, Stan Lee has proven that theory false by using his influence to help others in his life. Lee's creation of comic book characters and situations with both significance and depth has been instrumental in revitalizing the comic book industry. His father, a dress cutter, had trouble finding work after the Great Depression. This resulted in his family having to live through financial struggles in a one-bedroom apartment throughout the depression. Lee studied at the DeWitt Clinton High School and while attending school worked small jobs on the side like writing obituaries for a news service and working as an office boy (Stan Lee, 2018).
