What kind of music do you like? Is it rock, country, rap, pop, or something else. We all have some sort of preference that we like, and we can thank our brain for that. With this paper I will tell you how our brain reacts to music and how it affects us.

Different people like different types of music. There are also many sub genres that are grouped into the major ones. One example is metal, it is a subgenre of rock. For my personal preference, I like most types of rock. My favorite is probably classic rock from the 70s to the 90s. That is just my personal preference but there are many other types of music as well. This chart tells, from a survey, about the preference of the people of these types of music. It can affect it in many ways. It can motivate you, depress you, help you concentrate, or even hurt you in some ways. Neuroscientist are the ones to credit for this research on the moods and affects. Music is very good for the brain they say. It helps us with daily tasks and gives us inspiration. There are also the bad effects of music. If someone writes a song about shooting people, that is a bad influence on the listeners. For the most part, it is a good influence. How brain also takes rythm good, we can go along to the beat to get more into the song. Not many people just don't listen to music in general, most people have a preferred type.
