As most people would agree, no one would want to be underestimated. In the story, “The girl who was born with only two arms and two legs,” by Stuart Baum, Quarta, is an underestimated character, because of how she looks. She is underestimated because she is treated differently, because she gets doubted and because she overcomes obstacles in life. Quarta is underrated because she treated differently. For example, at lunch the students have to catch their food, but the teachers sometimes give Quarta food because she can't catch it, which Quarta said that it made her feel like a baby. It makes her stand out from the crowd and kids will shun her for it. In addition, a lot of kids make fun of her and call her a freak. How would it make you feel if you got called a freak just because you looked different from everyone else? Furthermore, Quarta explained that her friends “Would be nice to her, but it was more like how you treat a pet than a person.” For instance, pets are treated with kindness but are told what to do, if Quarta was treated like a pet then that couldn’t have been a good experience with her “friends.” This proves that, Quarta is underestimated because she is treated differently. …show more content…

As a result, Quarta is undervalued because she is

In the book ‘Two or Three things i know for sure’, Dorothy Allison who tells her story growing up in a memoir and she uses her experiences to explain the two or The things she learned. What makes this her story stand out is not just that it 's a memoir but also because the main point is beauty and how women in her family were put down and abused because of their appearance. Throughout this whole book Dorothy tries to send out one important message on beauty which from my understanding beauty is not based on what men say or society says, we live in a world where a woman 's beauty is determined whether a man find hers beautiful and that must stop. Timothy Dow Adams who read’s ‘Two or Three things i know for sure’ writes his review on it, and his understanding of Dorothy Allison 's points of views.

In a New Light One of the key symbols used in Ayn Rand’s Anthem is the advancement from the creation of the candle, to the invention of the lightbulb. The lightbulb symbolizes several things. Mainly, it represents Equality 7-2521’s new society and how it will light the way to more innovative ideas. In today’s world even, the lightbulb is used in cartoons to illustrate that a character has a bright idea. Equality 7-2521’s invention also represents change.
Her classmates also have an effect of her. They seem to think that because she is not beautiful; she is not worth anything except to laugh a her . As if it were not bad enough being teased by kids, adults also had did the same thing to her. Mr.

At the beginning of “2 Arms and 2 Legs,” Quarta was very weak. Throughout the story Quarta transitions from weak to brave. By the end of the story she learns that it’s okay to stand up for yourself. Weak. One name can change a person.
This shows that Quarta wants to be normal, because her not being normal is what has been causing Quarta to have no friends.
Would you ever tease someone for being different? Maybe they have a different amount of arms or legs, would you still tease them? In the story, The Girl with only Two Arms and Two Legs, written by Stuart Baum Quarta, the protagonist, was born with only 2 arms and 2 legs in a world where everyone has 4 arms and 4 legs.l think Quarta just wants to be accepted because she is helpful and kind to everyone, she gets teased and bullied, and she creates one ball for everyone. First of all, I think Quarta wants to be accepted because she is helpful and kind to everyone! For example, Quarta was the first one to volunteer to go find Kako when he went missing.
This shows how Quarta is underestimated. When it says ‘bad news,’ it means that Quarta is different and won't be the same like others.
