School districts are spending a large part of their budget on technology. The demand on teachers is ever increasing to keep up. Many teachers have not had the computer background that today’s students have been exposed to; this requires teachers to learn and keep up with current technology. Teachers can learn from their students just like the students learn from their teachers. Students have more exposure to modern technology and help the teachers learn. Technology can help make the job of the teacher easier and more efficient. A person’s attitude makes a difference in success with technology. Acceptance of change and eagerness to learn new things will make it an easier transition! Technology in the classroom is important for teachers, parents, and students alike, because technology use has become a necessary skill for survival in today’s vastly expanding technology driven global economy. Research has shown an increase in student’s success rates when exposed to technology in the classroom. Also technology has opened lines of communication between educators and parents to keep students on track, and help teachers educate better.
With the capabilities and wide-spread availability of technology, it is not uncommon to use electronic machines and computers in our everyday lives. Whether it is a business, government, hospital, or car repair shop, people utilize technology to make their jobs more effective, efficient, and enjoyable. One societal institution where the incorporation of technology seems most beneficial is in our schools, especially in K-12. Through the use of technology, education is made more accessible, versatile, engaging, and easier for both students and teachers.
Schools need to embrace the new world of technology and encourage it. Students are changing, teachers must change too(10 reasons) Teachers education needs to be modified to reflect demand of moderate classrooms. My current position is a Client Service Manager at an independent financial planning firm. My duties consist of working with high net-worth investors preparing financial reports, aiding in financial transactions, marketing functions, as well as leading a team.
