Long long ago , there was a time period called the Great Depression. The Great Depression was a time zone when many people didn’t have a lot, and people lost their jobs and didn’t have a lot of money. The Depression affected people’s lives in many ways. Some the Great Depression affected people’s lives were , it made people cut back on a lot of resources , made people go into debt and take out loans , and it the president pass new bills and laws.

To begin with, the Great Depression made a abundance of people give up and cut back on things they needed. For example, families had to spare food and turn off water so pretty much everything was cut in half or turned off. In the story “ Digging In” Robert J. Hastings states , “ With no dependable income we had to cut back on everything as possible.” this quote means they [ the people] didn’t have a good or enough money coming in to support their family. Since the income was very low people had to use other thing they had like cloth, blankets, and curtains to fix and make things because they couldn’t buy them. …show more content…

Many people in the depression ran out of many ran out of money very quickly so they did not have a lot at times. In the poem “Debt’’ it says, “ Daddy is thinking about taking a loan from Mr. Roosevelt ….”. This quote means he didn’t have enough money for his crops and he [the dad] needed money to replenish his crops. During the the Great Depression lots of people probably saved every last penny they possibly could ,but eventually it will run out and then they won’t have any more.
