Becoming a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy has been a goal of mine since I was twelve years old. My grandfather served in the Navy, and that has inspired me to serve as well. With the NROTC, I will have the opportunity to strengthen my physical, mental, and leadership skills. As a Naval Officer, I will have the great honor of instilling these same skills into the sailors I lead.
Leadership is very important to me. I am the captain of my school's cross-country team, and was the recipient of the leadership award. My coach gave me this position based on my leadership qualities. When my team is going through a rough practice, it is my job to push them forward and help them find their motivation. I have earned my teams respect, leading by example, which is crucial to being a good leader.

This role has strengthened my leadership skills exponentially. I am responsible for conducting meetings, planning events, and acting as liaison between teachers and students. Contributing to my school is very important to me.
I am also the worship leader for our school chapel program. Our school did not have a worship team until I formed one. I presented the idea to my headmaster, and with his approval I recruited other students to sing along while I play guitar. After a few months, members of the worship team became unmotivated to practice. Inspiring them to continue, proved to be a challenge for me. After talking with each of the members, we found motivation to keep going.
I want to continue building my leadership skills by becoming a Naval Officer. The Navy will push and challenge me to become the best version of myself. I am very excited at the prospect to pursue a career with the Navy, a career that has been a dream of mine since my
Leadership is being able to guide other students into being the best they can be. I am a leader who is always positive and cheering others on to achieve their goals. At my school, I have a position as the Vice President of Academics in National Honors Society. Since I have obtained this position, I encourage other students in this group to participate in service projects which is where one volunteers to help out the community in some aspect. These volunteering opportunities are good thing to do because it builds character and it is always fun helping others out. As a leader, I bring new ideas to the table on where we should help out in the community and anything that we could do in school that would fun and helpful. Along with participating in National Honors Society at my school, I am also involved in our Student Government Association. Although I do not have a leadership position in this club, I still engage in the activities that we do. For the past two years, I have gone to an annual meeting for leadership where multiple schools attend. At this meeting there are fun activities where you learn more about leadership and how to be a good leader. As a leader, these meetings help because it is always good to learn new
Two more important parts of leadership are organization and responsibility. My senior year of high school, I worked with a committee to organize a large fundraiser called “Stuff the Bus”. I helped with every aspect of the project and also served
Leadership is very important to our society and to myself. It gives us guidance on what to do and if the things we are doing are appropriate. Leadership is not only something everyone could use, but also needs. I believe I can demonstrate directionism while being involved in the National Junior Honor Society.
I was in MC JROTC for four years in high school I've seen a lot of my friends graduate and go to MCR the Paris Island and come back changed they come back with a sense of pride in who they are and what they represent and I wanted to be just like that so Throughout high school I pushed myself I became part of the drill team and the colors are commander I work to make a better today at court so the program will improve there were many challenges I face because I've learned that one of the hardest things to do is to lead a group of your own. But no matter what I made sure that any cadet under my charge was heading in the right direction one of my closest friends who are serving in the Marine Corps taught me that leadership is a lesson that never stops that there's always room to grow as a leader and I see that he was right
The United States Navy and strong leadership are synonymous. I have been raised in a family that emphasized leadership and integrity. These qualities are demonstrated through distinct and profound attitudes, behaviors, and core moral values. I want to be part of something that matters and gives me the opportunity to succeed while helping people. Being a Naval Officer offers the fulfillment I am looking for.
Being a leader allows you to inspire those around you it allows you to not only grow as a person, but, also allows you to grow as a mentor that can help others become better versions of themselves. An important leadership trait I possess is my emphasis on quality; I’ve never been the type of person that has
Leadership is a quality I am proud to say I have and I demonstrate that quality through my sports; bringing focus, positive attitude, and determination to my team every time we step on the field and always being available to lend assistance to anyone in
Hello, my name is Brendan Sherwin, I am 16 years old, and currently attends West Hills High School as a junior. I am that benevolent student that everyone goes to for help or goes to be their partner in group projects. I am a leader to many and a great friend to others. I am currently thinking about joining military, but at the same time I want to save lives. So I decided to join the military sector in health care is the best way to go, in the military leadership earns respect. Besides getting respect, I would like to get the satisfaction of helping those that have risked their lives for this beautiful country of ours, so this is my way of giving back to them. So I want to become a Navy Neurosurgeon. I feel that with my leadership, determination,
My mom warned me that it would be too much for me to balance. I was already involved in coloabash, senior board, student council, cheer, applied leadership, and worked at Francesca’s. Plus trying to find the right college and fill out all the applications. It turned out my mom was right and I started not being able to go to the student leader meetings and some of the event. I ended up having a meeting with pastor Andrew and his wife to talk about why I have been missing so much and explained how busy I was, so they told me I needed to work on time management skills and how they wanted me to be on their team. I ended up not making it to the next few meetings due to work and cheer. We ended up having another meeting and this time we both came to the conclusion that I needed to be taken off the student leader team since it was not fair for the people that were showing up. I do not regret the time I spent being apart of the student leader team. I have started to read more books about becoming a leader and applying them to my
I immigrated to this great country in search of the American dream. Joining the Navy is the best decision I have made for my family and myself. I want to pay tribute to this great country that gave me a place to call home and the Navy for the opportunity to serve. My times as an enlisted Sailor have given me a unique opportunity to succeed at every task and to maximize the opportunity to get trained and educated. I continue to strive to be a superb Logistician and I now want to utilize my professional knowledge and leadership ability to serve as an Officer in the Supply Community.
Leadership is necessary for a role in any part of your life. Last summer I was on a softball team that was very young and very inexperience. Being one of the oldest and a little more experienced when it comes to travel softball. Everyone looked up to me. I had never really been a leader. I took on this role and learned so much. The way that I look at it is that God gave me an opportunity to notice a skill that I didn’t know that I had. Being a leader is so important, not in just sports but also in life.
According to Webster’s Dictionary, leadership is the power or ability to lead other people, the act or instance of leading. I believe that Leadership is an art, the art to get others to follow and accomplish a common goal or task in a harmonic manner. A leader can be shown in all kinds of shapes and forms. To be a great leader many people believe it consists of modeling the way, inspiring a shared vision, enabling others to act, and encouraging the heart. Over the course of me learning how to become a better leader and being in leadership roles, I’ve learned that all these are very necessary to be a great leader.
I have led groups that vary in different situations. Being a leader is very important! Not only is it a necessary skill, it also teaches you confidence and problem solving as well as teamwork. In fifth grade, I was also inducted into Honor Society later on becoming the president. As the president, it was my responsibility to come up with new and exciting ideas to present and lead my team with. Furthermore, I’ve also been the leader of countless group projects. As a team, we came up with ideas and created and as a leader, I oversaw and made sure everything was getting done and provided a lending hand. Not only have I been leaders of teams, but I’ve also been the leader of my music section. I currently play the clarinet (since fifth grade) and have been 1st chair. As the first clarinet, it is my job to ensure we’re together and in tune. Altogether, I feel as if I possess the aptitude of a true
Not wanting to stop there, I aspired to become an officer — to be more involved and gain more out of the club. Instead of just being a role player on
I have proven throughout my career that I have the leadership, technical, and management skills required of a successful Naval Officer. I feel that it is my time to exercise these abilities as a CWO. My record speaks volume for what I have done. If you need someone to take on the toughest jobs and lead with success, I am definitely that person. I am a leader! Put me in the
